This is wonderful news! And he is so adorable!!!  Pofi just sent a little something 'cause getting his own sibling dog to play with was the best thing ever.

Come to think of it, I'd better talk to Mia about a contribution 'cause she was so lucky to get adopted by Pofi that she should give something back! Next payday, perhaps...

You guys are just the GREATEST! Thank you all so much!

Roooopert, is your middle name REALLY Ole?
Does your mommy sing you the Ole Olson, Janni Jaansen from Ocio Wisconsin, ja, ja jahhhhh song?

LisaMarie, Pofi sure does well with a computer!

Ole gets neutered tomorrow (Tuesday). Everyone, paws crossed that he does just fine.....

I chipped in a little, not much, but its what I can do at the moment.  I really really hope his neuturing goes well and that he makes it home to you very soon!!  He looks like a cute bugger and a half :)

It sure is. We had the name Rupert picked out years before we even knew what breed of dog we were getting and when (I was in college, we were renting an apartment). When we decided on a vizsla and went to visit the vizzie puppies at 3 weeks (now owned our own house), I picked out one named Ole. So that became his middle name. He had a brother named Sven. [sm=biggrin.gif]

I don't know that song! But it sounds like one I need to learn. I sing all the time to Rupe, just making stuff up. It's never the same thing twice.

    Update:

You guys have gotten the ball rolling on his plane ticket....I think we are about 1/3 of the way there so far. THANK YOU!

I haven't heard yet how the neutering went. I'm going to wait until I hear from the rescue tomorrow to see how he did. I'll post an update as soon as I know!

If you want to take the deduction, you'll have to send a check snail mail to PSNEA, because the PayPal doesn't go directly to them. I told Jan (the head of rescue there) that it would be cool for them if they had a PayPal button, and Jan wrote that "I'm not a computer person and you go ahead and put one up" so that's what I did. Of course I'm sending them the money, but there wouldn't be any paperwork to show the tax man for proof of your donation to PSNEA. So send a check directly to the address in the original post if you want your tax deduction. [;)]Just fyi.

I just got off the phone with Kenna, who is fostering Ole for now.

Here's an excerpt from the email she sent me:

He was really good on the leash when we took him out into the waiting area of the Humane Society. Greeted their Dalmatian (Old lady) mascot very nicely. Finally got bored with all the standing around and just laid down and relaxed. Walked nicely out side but really couldn't seem to comprehend that we wanted him to get in the truck. (We have an extended cab and he was going to ride in the front in the back seat compartment). I don't think he has been taken for rides much. He resisted staying in the truck when we lifted him in. But once we were on our way he settled down nicely. I held him back there by his leash for a while so he wouldn't climb up front. He did like getting up and looking out the side windows. Before we got home (about 7 miles) he was just laying down in the back.

When we got home and he got out in the parking lot he was very "up" and interested in everything. Just looking around. We took him into the yard next to the house and Lhokki, our 14 year old Elkhound was in there and our big black cat. He got along very well with both and just did normal sniffing and then they all went on their way. Then we put him out in "his" yard where he will stay for a couple days while he gets used to the routine. There is no one else out there but he has his own living quarters and a large fenced yard. But he can visit the other dogs and my 4 llamas through the fence.

He ran around and checked out the yard and inside the building and then the llamas came over to check him out. He didn't bark at them and wasn't fearful. Just curious. They stiffed noses through the fence.

Then I went in and let Annie and Thelma and Lilje out. They all went out to check him out and he did really well. He really, really wanted to play with them. He will get that opportunity in a day or so.

About that time we got hit by a huge hail storm and we all took cover. Didn't seem to bother him at all. He did some barking but I think it was more because we had gone inside than that he was concerned about the hail. Then 2 fighter jets flew over low and he ignored them. Then my husband pulled in pulling a trailer with my new quad. He barked a little at him but more like excitement and greeting.

I gave him a good dinner with Iams kibble, scrambled eggs and string beans and he ate with gusto. When I first laid the bowl down he was so excited he acted like he could hardly believe it was for him. He did real good about letting me pick it back up and move it.

He is very affectionate and loves to be handled.
