Well we looked at kennels for cockapoos and didnt find any so Im sorry we bought what we wanted. And like I said before we have helped strays I have 4 in my house right now.

Well that's interesting. I just, on a lark, went to petfinders.com and entered cockapoo, both genders. I got 14 "babies" and 52 "young" in my area.

But were they sable? I think the originator of the thread specifically wanted a sable cockapoo.  I personally couldn't care less about the color of a dog, but this matters to some people.  In this case, it was worth $1100.

I'm all for people getting their pets from where they like, as long as getting that pet did not promote the suffering of other animals and that person is going to keep that pet and care for it until it dies.  None of my animals came from rescue or a reputable breeder (they were all given to me and were products of oops! litters).  I personally wouldn't spend $1,000 to purchase a dog, reputable breeder or not.

But going back to the original topic:  It's probably not a good idea to buy from a breeder online since you can't really verify what you are getting and who you are getting it from. If you are going to spend $1,000 plus on a living creature, why not spend some cash to fly out and see the place where the animal is being raised?

Well I never heard of pet finders I went to local kennels and typed in cockapoos on line so dont know what to say to you I bought my dog and thats all I can say. And how do you know that people are being honest about what they paid for there dogs. It does not matter. My husband broke his back in a motorcycle accident and he wanted a cockapoo cause he had one growing up so he bought it with his mmoney he got for being injured so thats why we bought our puppy.

Gee all the poodles came from one litter. The same for the cockers.  Those must have been all great dogs as they are all breed quality from one litter.  I never have heard of any breeder getting so many quality pups from one litter.  Funny but all those names look like PM names.  Don't look like any kennel names I have ever seen.

Timsdat, you are phenomenal----where did you pull up the AKC reg numbers? Were they on the site or did you go to the akc?

Public information on the AKC web sire.  All I need is a reg name and a breed.  You can also find out if the dog has any titles.  Spend a few bucks and you can get a pedigree and breeder name.

We have a problem here. I got the same thing after we got our pup (where you live) I don`t live where you live Sorry. Do you realise their are many places that won`t let you adopt a dog unless you live in that state or the next state over. My son wants to adopt a GS pup but he can`t because their aren`t any here. They have some in the next state (rescue and shelter) but they will not adopt out of their state. So there are shelters and rescues that have dogs that people want but won`t let them have a forever home unless you live on their doorstep.

I guess this is where patience comes into play.  I understand buying a shirt from the internet because you have to have right away, but dogs are living creatures.  I think I'd rather wait for the right dog to come along in rescue than to buy one on the net from a questionable source.  If the dog I wanted wasn't in rescue or I needed a specific type of dog for a specific purpose, then I'd probably look for a reputable breeder and get on a waiting list.  Instant gratification is great for some things, but for living creatures there are other variables to look at.

    Moderator here,
I have to assume everyone's Easter was really boring or you just don't do Easter. Lol...

This thread is closed for present...move on. I will reopen if I feel there are things that haven't been said...but glancing thru I highly doubt there's much left?

You all enjoy the rest of your Easter.
