Buying a pup online

It appears from the editing that only negative response is allowed from persons without knowledge or fact of the person in question, how fair to the breeder.Best thing to do with such a long term investment is get references from people who purchased a pup from Mike's Cockapoos and spend a little money and visit his dog world, you may find it to be well worth it.

I think anyone with knowledge is welcome here and since (according to your posts) you have more than one dog from this kennel, please share---of course given the rules about advertising maybe it would be better to answer some questions.

Here are some (modified) questions I asked people who had bought a puppy from a kennel I was researching when I was looking for a dog.

How many dogs have you bought from this kennel? Did you buy them in person, or were they shipped? Do you know what health tests were done on the parents? What are the registered names of the parents?

How old are your dogs now? Have you had any problems with them? If so, how did the breeder respond? How often does the breeder follow up with you about the dogs?

What was the best thing about this breeder? What is one thing you would have changed? Why did you choose this breeder? How did you find out about this breeder?

Perhaps if you told us more about your experience by answering these questions then it wouldn't sound "commercial" and the mods would be okay with the post.

Not only is there nothing wrong with wanting to get information about a breeder before purchasing a puppy from them, IMHO it's the only ethical thing to do! It isn't an issue of whether or not to "spend a little money" to see if you like the breeder/dog or not. As you noted, a dog is a "long term investment" and not something to treat like merchandise that you ensure comes with a 30 day return policy if you buy a dog without having done your homework, then decide you've changed your mind.

I think Polarexpress has had some very constructive comments, and if you would like to defend the honor of Mike's Cockapoos, which you seem to feel strongly about, then a great way to do that would be to answer the questions or at least give us a little more information on why you like the breeder so much. The pictures are cute, but it would be great to have some factual information as well. It's always good to hear about other people's experiences.

We'd like to hear your reference!

I'd also like to hear about dogs not as "long term investments" but as living creatures.

You will never hear any good advice from forums like this. Don't second guess yourself.
I have visited with this Kennel and have met the parents to the puppy I purchased. I was fortunate enough to be allowed to come when the Vet was doing the puppy health check. ( He was very thorough). There is nothing wrong here.
In case you don't know, they are very involved with animal rescue. Also having been Wisc.State Licensed Wildlife Rehabers, for the past 7 yrs. Facilities such as these are subject to inspection 365 days a year.
It would also seem that some pedigrees have been slandered.
TopBrass Cody Supreme has an explecit pedigree as anyone can see with the attachment I have inc. Maybe the person placing these slanderous outbursts should apologize to these people. Or better yet, use that energy to go take some unfotunate pound dog for a walk.

If there is no good advice on the forum, why are you here?  It is very suspicious that you (and two other people) joined within 24 hours of each other and the only posts you have contributed are to promote a particular kennel.  If you're going to troll/advertise, at least try to be a little creative and less transparent about it.

    Moderator here...

Thinly veiled spam from a person who owns a kennel...pretending to be 2 or three happy customers. Original...not really.

This is not the Mike Bauer support forum. Talk about your dogs as dogs you own...and pass along your great experiences with your "breeder", to people interested via PM.

I issue a first warning to Dream On and their other aliases. If you would like us to go as far as checking IP's and such we will. ONE account per member...NO advertising for profit links or services....those are rules. If you cannot abide by them...be prepared for further action from the Admin's here.

Disparaging this forum and the the many wonderful members here is also pretty lame...anyone with 10 minutes can sort thru any topic and see just how much wonderful advice is available here. Cease such insults or you will be removed. If the advice here does not interest you...leave.
    Thanks.
