    Installing a Storm Door

Has anyone ever done it themselves?  I really want one and can see where the frame of an old one was....I measured and it seems to be a pretty standard size.  Is it hard to install and will it require much more than some wedging and screwing?

I will talk to the people at Home Depot today too but thought I would see if anyone else has any experience.  If it is a pain to do then I will just hire someone to do it like I usually do.  It just doesn't seem to me that it would be that hard....is it?  If it requires any sort of framing then I am afraid it will be too much for me.  Otherwise, I am actually pretty handy....

I don't have any experience myself, but my hubby did ours fairly quickly and easily last year.  Think it took him an hour or so.

BTW, we got a Pella door, and it is wonderful and worth the extra dollars to get a good one.

No experience here.  You sound like me.  Not afraid to take on things like a storm door.  Go girl!  I definitely want to see pictures when you're done.

It's not hard at all to install, you'll be fine.  A storm door goes inside your frame, so as long as you have one your good, which you should if you have a door at all!  lol

Agreed, It's not that hard.  I did ours in about 2 hours. You should have an inch or two of frame sticking out from your door, and that is where it is mounted. Good luck.

As you know, the storm door will install inside the frame of your regular door.  It is not a difficult job.  You do want to make sure you have enough clearance between your lock set and the storm door though.
