    An idea...

As most of you know, I give dog safety classes at our local schools. I was talking with my insurance agent the other day and came up with an idea. Tell me what you think.

All bull breed (and other "dangerous" breed) owners are lumped into a single, stereotypical group: knuckle-dragging, crack selling junkies with a fourth grade education. Because many think of us in this manner, I have thought about buying a really thick spiked collar and a heavy cahin to attach to it. I also would get one of those "tough guy" (for lack of a better term) t-shirts that say something to the effect of "Yeah, she's a Pitbull. Wanna make something of it?".

I would start my program as I normally do, but in this get-up. After talking for a few minutes, I would excuse myself and pull a nice shirt on over this and change Gypsy into her show collar and show lead (a small gauge choke and very, very light lead). It's the same dog and the same woman, but the perception of who we are changes dramatically.

What do you guys think? Am I waaay out in left field here, or do you think this would work?

Now all I have to do is come up with the money for this stuff!

I think illustrating the point would be very beneficial!  One question, could you use a rolled collar, perhaps, instead of a show collar?  People who don't show might just associate a choke chain with a dog that needs extra control.  Just a thought.

Lori, I think it's a great idea.  An idea, maybe CafePress might have something along those lines in t-shirts.
