Poll:Tasty Kakes

In the past, I have received local goodies from other people's areas in exchange for tastykakes. I got some candy once, and another time I got Dr.Pepper. I forget who sent me that, but if whoever that is still frequents the board and is reading this, I want more.

I've heard of such a creature.  But I'm not totally convinced they are real.  A bit like wild haggis.

Well if the person can't send Tasty Kakes, they could send something snack wise unique to their area.

Griffinej5-if you send me Birch Beer I'll send Dr. Pepper (you can't get that up there?)

Oh my gosh, I miss WaWa sooo much! I'm from Philly-relocated to MS and we don't have anything like that here! I too miss tasty-cakes..(although I didn't know that's what they were called) I've only had the butterscotch ones though.

Does anyone know of a tasty desert cake named a "hoo-hoo"? Then we could have Tasty Kakes, Wawa's, hoo hoo's and ding-dongs... life would be complete :)

Your forgetting moon pies.  Actually isn't there ho-hos.

Oh yuck, Ho-Hos are disgusting. Little Debbie snack cakes, while I do like the Zebra Cakes, are nothing in comparison to tastykakes.  Rup's mom, the Dr.Pepper I am talking about came straight from the Dr.Pepper plant in Texas. It was greater than any regular Dr.Pepper. But, yes, we do have Birch Beer here too.

Yup!  There are HoHo's.  They're like Yodels.

Boy,I sure am learning alot of differant things here. I never heard of half of these.I know ho-ho's, ding dongs,twinkies--all too sweet. What about Krispy Kremes? Those are great warm.

Huh?  Yodels are some of the noises basenjis make, sometimes it's called a baroo or a chortle.

And is a HoHo plural of Ho?

Hey, you know you shouldn't "talk dirty" on the forum! Hoo-hoo, ding-dong? Moon pie? Whooo!Party!!!

Unfortunately we have NO Tastykakes in Alaska. I'm lucky to get just a few Little Debbies.

You people make me miss the east coast. I was home in Maryland in September, and I ate like 10 packs of Butterscotch Krimpets while I was there. I also brought a pack for my sister who loves them more than I do. But apparently there's some Philly cheese steak place around here that carries Tasty Kakes, including Krimpets. I'll have to track it down... I never knew they were a regional thing til I moved here. And WaWa! I didn't appreciate it til I left, lol. They have good food, good chocolate milk (bottled stuff, but it's WaWa brand, and a lot better than Nesquick or whatever other crap stores sell), AND clean bathrooms! Imagine that!

Oh, ha, I missed Gina's post saying she gets Tasty Kakes from a philly cheesesteak place too. There's hope for the rest of you! Find a good cheesesteak place!

BTW, for clarity's sake.. Tasty Kake is a brand of snack cakey stuff, like Little Debbie or similar such brands. Those peanut butter things are called Kandy Kakes (there's also chocolate Kandy Kakes). Krimpets are another Tasty Kake, and they come in a few different flavors.. That's all I know..Tasty Kake 101. Big Smile
