Positive pregnancy test..

As Glenda said, much of it simply may be the sort of practitioner you've seen and what may be the done thing with them.  As I've said, I've miscarried many times and have never had a D&C, altho I've never been further along than 6-7 weeks when I've lost it, which is likely why a D&C wasn't mentioned to me.  And I think I made it pretty clear my advice would be to see a doctor -- I just didn't realize it was so 'common' for anyone young to have a D&C.  Even when I was in my late 40's/early 50's and having a serious problem with menorrhagia it wasn't something my doctor wanted me to do.  Both my doctors when I lived up North, and my several OB/gyns that I've seen in Florida have wanted to avoid a D&C.  Not sure why - I've no clue.

I'm so sorry you've had to go thru this.  It's hard.  Terribly hard.  And it's sad.  No matter your age, or anything else -- it's sad.  I'm glad you have good support with your family and BF.

Redlegos, I'm so sorry this happened to you.  My sister also miscarried once, but she was around 4mos along and found out the night before Christmas Eve - made it especially hard since our step-sister planned to announce on Christmas Eve that she was also pregnant.  Go easy on yourself and your body - I'm glad you're in the care of such a good doctor that you TRUST and feel confident in.  You need that support to understand what happened and what happens next, as you try to explain to your BF and others.  You're in our thoughts and Gracie sends little Dobe kisses to you.  We're so sorry for your loss.  ((HUGS))
