    Yeah Debbie told me the story. I couldnt believe it. The owner went on vacation & left his dogs with a "friend". Dogs got loose and "friend" didnt bother looking for them or telling the owner they were gone.

    Not only are there fines incured for the boarding & regular stuff but Deb said that LRAS also sterilized the male so he could attend an adoption event. So the owner will have to pay LRAS for the sterilization of the male.

    What a great "friend" huh? If this were my "friend" they would be seeing me in court where I would ask for all of the money it costs to get them out & to get the male sterilized.

    I told Debbie, I dont know the standards well, but I hope those dogs wernt show quality dogs because now the male is no longer a male.

    That is why I will ALWAYS board Sofia rather than have a "friend" take care of her. I've found and returned two purebred dogs (a border collie and a JRT) who were in the same situation. Both times the "friend" let them out, or let them escape, and neither one bothered to look for the dog. [:@][:@][:@] Both times I took care of the dogs for over two weeks!

    By the way, that cute little elkhound pup we all got so excited about a bit back, the one in PA. She was adopted the day after she came into the shelter. That was two weeks ago, I think. The shelter lady called me just this last weekend and said SO many people wanted her! But that she wanted to keep my name...though she'd never seen an elkhound before.[&:]
