Please think about Zack

Zack has been very ill since yesterday morning. He has been sick to his stomach non stop, can't keep anything down. Last night my mother called the vet and they said to try teaspoons of water. He couldn't keep it down but throughout the night he wasn't sick until this morning. SO my parents took him to the vet, he is on an iv because he is borderline dehydrated, they did x rays, no blockage, they can't figure out what's wrong.

We are hoping he will be able to come home tonight, but they still can't find out what's going on. Any good thoughts are appreciated

I hope he's ok - did the vet check him for pancreatitis? I have a dog who has this and it sounds very similar to what her symptoms are. I hope he feels better soon, good vibes are going out to him!

Definitely good thots and prayers ... have they done a big superChem panel (blood panel?). That's how they caught Billy's pancreatitis - the amylase and Lipase were literally one double of the other which is a typical hint of pancreatitis. Pancreatitis can LOOK so much like an obstruction it's not funny. And we just had a major holiday when a lot of pets get into grease and foodstuffs that ultimately upset their tummy badly. Could he have gotten a lot of turkey/turkeyskin/drippings?

thank you everyone, i am nearly brought to tears over here.

I phoned and asked the vet about pancreitis, they are going to look into it and let me know. He was sick over there again, bile and grass.

We know that Zack usually has stomach problems so we don't feed him our food, other than maybe a little piece of toast here and there. We are all just so worried over here. See, the pup we had before him, Lola was 8 months old when she died of galloping spinal cancer. Maddie and Zack are her siblings from a second litter. They are at the 8 month old mark now, and it is so nerve wrecking.

But thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and words, I will keep you all updated. He will be at the vet over night. Luckily the vet we go to is a husband and wife and they live at the vet clinic, their house is attached.

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope Zack gets well quickly. There's a lot of playing left to do.
