We deep fry a turkey, bake a  ham, add garlic mashed potatoes with carmalized onions. Then some steamed asparagus, corn on the cob, and creamed corn ( odd recipe...has whipped cream and cream cheese in it)  a simple salad,  we all have mimosas and thru out the day there are tons of hor duerves. I asked the gang what my Signature would be and they busted out laughing, everyone uses my recipes and we all tweak things the same way... so they thought and decided mine would have to be organizing eveyone...Cool I can livewith that  hee hee

We used to buy them too but, I found a recipe to make them at a ton cheaper price. My family is also making lasagna. Just so happened to catch me on a pregnant day where I wanted ham and cheesy potatoes!

     5 pounds ready-to-eat ham

    1/4 cup whole cloves

    1/4 cup dark corn syrup

    2 cups honey

    2/3 cup butter

    1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
    2. Score ham, and stud with the whole cloves. Place ham in foil lined pan.
    3. In the top half of a double boiler, heat the corn syrup, honey and butter. Keep glaze warm while baking ham.
    4. Brush glaze over ham, and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Baste ham every 10 to 15 minutes with the honey glaze. During the last 4 to 5 minutes of baking, turn on broiler to caramelize the glaze. Remove from oven, and let sit a few minutes before serving.

    Pomegranate Salsa

Got this recipe from my MIL.  Tastes great (if you like cilantro) and has very festive color!

    2 pomegranates (the seeds)

    2 cucumbers, chopped up

    2 avocados, chopped up

    scallions (a few), chopped up

lemon juice so the avocado doesn't brown

    handful of cilantro, chopped

Mix all together, serve with tortilla chips!

All of my more impressive dishes lean strongly toward "pick up, bring home and arrange on a platter." However, I did make a lasagna for tonight (actually made it) and all I have left to do is make a frantic call to the Butterball Hotline for some turkey breast info for tomorrow.

DH does the Christmas dinner, so HIS signature dish is Prime Rib packed in rock salt. I am demoted to kitchen slave on this day.
