Hide a squirrel

    Hide a squirrel

Now I know this is a weird question, but I am thinking about getting one, do you think my dogs would actually have fun with it?  I mean, do you think they would understand the point of the toy?

Well, Anne S sent Daisy one for my Happy Mail gift, and she loves it. My daisy is a bit dense when it comes to the toy department (she still thinks the head of her other toy- a reindeer squeaks instead of the body...) but she picked it up right away and got the squirrels out (that were packed pretty tight) in about five minutes.

Daisy's a bit of a "heavy squeaker" and one out of three of the toys is already squeaker broken.

All in all,  I think she loves it. It's become one of her favorite toys.

I got Sierra one last november for her birthday. It took a little while, but she really loves that thing. She has a blast with the squirrels, pouncing on them and squeaking them all the time. Then she'll decide that she wants something bigger and grab for the stump.
Sometimes she'll decide that she'll check out the contents of the stump.. and shoves her whole head inside. It's quite funny.
I say go for it.. Sierra gives it two paws up [:)]

I woud so get one if I were you because your dog is going to have a blast.

I got Blue one for christmas and he loves it we have a good 25 mintues session with it each time until he gets tired of it. He loves the squirrels and the stump seperate at times. It it a wonderful toy and I even started to add one of Blue's half chewed bullystick in there he has a blast getting that out too. Now if only I could find the third squirrel.

They look so fun, but I know Romy would just tear it to shreds and instantly destuff the squirrels.  If your dog isn't a heavy chewer like my Romy is, I bet it'd be a great toy!

I got Boomer one a couple of months ago and at first he really enjoying trying to take the squirrels from the tree stump.  But unfortunately after  a while he ended up ripping everything into shreds.  I probably should have waited to give it to him when he was older as I gave it to him during his teething stage.

Darci is a chewer, but she loves this toy, she killed and destuffed the squirrel in a short time, but we now put other toys in the trunk. She still loves it and has great fun.

My kids aren't really destroyers, Charlie actually sucks on some of his toys.  Well I will go get one, thanks!

Where do you get them? They sound like something my 2 would enjoy.

Are there stores that carry hide a squirrel, or does it have to be bought online?  DH won't let me order one (too many toys already) but I bet he'd buy one if we saw it in a store!!

They sell it at petco and petsmart and probably most ;pet stores but it is cheaper online!

Well, I bought one today, and I am using the directions on how to familiarize your dog with it.  Wish me luck!

    It had directions??[sm=eek.gif]

    So- how is it?

I bought Sofia a Hide-a-Squirrell for the ridiculous Alaska markup price (twice as much as online, even including shipping [8D]). She really loved it, being as squirrels are her MANIA. Well, and rabbits, too, but those squirrels are so incredibly teasing....

BUT Roscoe didn't like his Hide-A-Bird and we traded for it and Sofie LOVES the birdies way better than the squirrels! I don't know if it's because they came with Roscoe smell on them (that was definitely a plus) but she definitely prefers the birdies.

Toby has the Hide a Squirrel and he just loves it!~  He understood the point of the game within minutes. I then had to invest in (almost) the entire Hide-A collection. He's got the bees, the turtle, the fish, the cube.... and he plays with all of them.

You can check out what they look like on his blog. There's even a pic on there where he got his head stuck in the hide a squirrel toy!~
