Met our new boy yesterday

We drove out to Vegas yesterday to meet the pups from a litter I've been interested in. We have a pupper picked out!

This is Eko. He's four-ish weeks old, and will be coming home the first weekend in January. He's a show potential Rhodesian Ridgeback male from extremely sweet parents. If I could have smuggled dad away, I would have. Most awesome bundle of 110 lb love I've ever met. Yes, dad is a big guy!

I really like the breeder, both dog-wise and personally. We may or may not show. I'm not certain, and she's fine with that. Her mentor lives in my area, so I have a good resource if I choose to venture into the strange world of conformation. We don't have an formal registry name picked out yet.

Aw congratulations!!! I love ridgies! There's one named Mike that goes to our dog park and his owners and me kind of have a dog mutual-admiration society (they're coonhound fans).

OMG! He is too much! How could you leave him there? LOL Oh, yes, BIG congrats! I'm looking forward to watching this little guy grow!

His call name will be Eko (sounds like Echo), after Mr. Eko from the TV show Lost.

His registry name will have "never" in it. His father is "Never say never." We don't have to use never, but the breeder would be tickled and I'm more than happy to name him after his sweetheart dad.

Edit - this is his maternal grandpa. The breeder thinks the litter takes after him in looks. http://camelotrr.com/mojave/
