Mindless Chatter - Friday

    Mindless Chatter - Friday

Dakota was bugging me to eat this morning! wohoo. She didn't eat much but at least it was something. These tummy meds seem to be really helping fast. Still no answers though on what is wrong with her. The only way to find out answers is an ultra sound, internal scope, sending blood work to TX, etc. I'm not going to do any of those just yet.

I have a vet appt for the kitty this morning but I'm thinking of canceling. The cat is back to normal and I can't justify the recheck expense after all the money I have spent lately. Especially if I spend another $100 for the vet to say "He's doing great!" Does that sound bad? Plus I'm just so sick of going to the vet it's not even funny. Maybe I'll just reschedule the appt.

Tonight I may go see Ann and do an agility fun event. Neiko could really use the play time - he's going crazy for exercise. Tomorrow I have a Xmas party to go to. All this depends on how Dakota is feeling throughout the day though.

YEAH DAKOTA!!! I wondered if she just wasn't eating because of her poopy issues. The thing about eating it is such a catch 22 for not eating and then once they start again. Once she starts eating she should want to. Hope you can come tonight Julie, it should be fun. Max and Belle are wearing their X-mas hats! Once again Belle will be humiliated but Max likes hers and she looks so cute in it. I get to leave work early today because I stayed late yesterday. I also got hear earlier (no commuting issues) so I am actually down 2 whole floors in the parking garage. I don't have to climb so many stairs. Does this mean the stars are aligning?????

    Happy Friday everyone!!!

Yay Dakota! Eat up your yummies. We're sending firm poo vibes for ya. Stick out tongue

Tomorrow we're getting our Christmas tree and I'm baking cookies with my mom. It should be fun! (But chilly chopping down a tree - the high is only 14.)

Don't you hate it when it warms up 30 degrees and you are still WAY below freezing!

I think my family is getting the christmas tree this weekend also! YAAAY.  I still haven't done any christmas shopping though..but I think that we aren't really doing much gift giving for christmas this year.  We all decided to save up our money for Florida in April and for me moving out.  SO when my mother asked what I wanted, I just said a gift certificate for wal mart, or home outfitters or something so that I can buy appliances and whatnot when I move out in March/April :D

Oh, and on a side note, my boyfriend suggested I take a self-defence course.  I think it's a good idea, because it will give me some confidence.  I have never thrown a punch in my life, I am about 115lbs and 5'6, and pretty frail lol.  I failed self-defence in high school :( lol.  So I will take that.

    YAY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jewlieee - I hope Dakota is feeling better!!

And I was thinking, I don't want the person who I got to send presents to for Secret Santa to wait until Christmas to open it.  I am too excited.  lol  I have been watching the postal tracking thing since it was sent.

Oh, and I forgot to add, I have a 45 minute hot stone massage today at 12, so in 1 hour! yay.  And what's nice, is I don't have to go far to get it, I was out of my office, through the photocopy room, turn right and I am there :D :D :D

Finally Friday!  I have to go to the doc in about an hour.  Not looking forward to that.  They are going to do a hearing test to see if they need to put another tube in my ear.  NOT FUN!!  Madison is going to stay with my dad while I go.  After I leave the doc, I HAVE to go buy Madison's Christmas gifts.  She wants one of the Fur Real Friends cats.  It meows and opens it's eyes and stuff like that.  That is all that she keeps asking for!  It's been a long week.  Last week, the dogs had a disagreement and I got caught in the middle of it and got bit.  The bite is still very sore and despite all of my efforts, it got infected so now I am having to keep an extra close eye on it and clean it out every 2 hours.  My mom said that I should have gotten a few stitches.  I guess I'll live!

So glad to hear Dakota is feeling better! Keep eating girl!

I finally got my New York state driver's license this AM. Because I go back and forth between DC and upstate NY I have been putting it off and putting it off.

Well, I got pulled over for running a yellow/red light this week. In all fairness, I was not plowing through the intersection with reckless speed, I made a decision to go through the yellow light to keep Luna from flying around in her crate if I slammed on the breaks. The officer was very nice. He scolded me, but let me go. I figured that episode used up all my good karma with the law and it was time to bite the bullet and become a New Yorker -- giving up the southern status I was clinging to with my VA driver's license (bad photo and all).

So play some Taps, I am a southern no longer -- well maybe in spirit (can you ever really take the spirit out of a southern girl!?!).

BF is coming home today.  Finally.  He's been gone for his training for almost 3 weeks now.  So I'm trying to get the house in some semblance of order.  Its not bad though, and I will maintain that I have more to clean up when he is here than when he is gone.

I'm also painting shelves.  A couple more hours and I might acutally be able to put them on the walls.

I burnt my lip on one of those Michelinnas microwave pizzas just now.  It smarts!  And I think I inhaled a green pepper.  They really should put a warning on these things.

Glad to hear Dakota's feeling better.

oh noooos. I missed the secret santa truck! I am anxiously waiting for tomorrow. I think I need to pick it up from the post office. Their card didn't have a check mark on any of the boxes - redeliver, pick up or anything. Actually I should probably call them and find out.

The good news though - Dakota ate some kibble today!!! That is a huge huge step in the right direction.

Things are not good today. Well, at least not the major things. I got my last evaluation from my supervisor, and she totally ripped me for BS. I was going to let a lot of issues go, and not take it to the dean, but now I feel like I have to.  I should have been given a different supervisor early on when I said I was uncomfortable continuing with this woman, but it 'couldn't be done.' Now I really have no clue if this woman is going to keep me from graduating or not. I'm going to have to make a big issue of it now with the dean, because there were ethical issues, and the situation was poorly handled by the field placements coordinator, and then he just ignored me.

Did I ever mention that Temple University's College of Education sucks?

Boo for bad supervising teachers! I have heard stories about students whose supervising teachers have offered them money ($100!) to change majors. It's time for SOMEONE to change careers and it's not us!

    Also, I hate boys.

Wow, that's horrible!  However, it's probably more honest than my supervisor.

Just a tip that may come in handy at some point in someone's life, saying ethical issues gets people to respond very quickly. I got a call from the dean at 6:50 this evening, and not just a call to say I'll talk to you on Monday. She actually spoke with me. Unfortunately she could not answer whether or not I had passed, but I did let her know the situation. I also told her that if I did fail, I had every intention of appealing it. That, in combination with the fact that I know my supervisor is lazy, leads me to believe I will get a barely passing grade. I know also that my supervisor just does this for easy money, so don't really think that she wants to put up with fighting me on this. The best case scenario for me, in addition to passing, would be a to put an end to this woman's easy money so that she doesn't do this to anyone else. However, Temple has a whole corrupt system for getting people to supervise, in which the field placement coordinator begs his retired friends to do this for easy bucks. A few of the supervisors are actual professors who want to do it for the purposes of better preparing students, or because they are forced to, but a good number of them are just there for easy money.
