    outraged.

back in September, I decided to try Proactive. After a few weeks, I cancelled my account, the product was not working. Along with the face cleaner came some vitamins. Never, EVER, did I get my credit card number out to that company, and they were not supposed to send any more after the first shipment. I now have 2 boxes, unopened, and charges on my card. I spoke with the customer service lady who was VERY rude. I'm about ready to call back again and ask to speak with a supervisor.

Now  I have to take these boxes to the postoffice and return them, so I can get my money back. This is REDICULOUS. I am so infuriated right now I cannot even see straight.

And to top it all off... my camera of 6 MONTHS has stopped working, lens wont close and pictures come out blurry.

I wouldn't even deal with proactive, just call your credit card company and tell them it is a fraudulent charge. Let them deal with pro-active. I've always had better success with situations like this just dealing with my credit card company. American Express is especially good with these issues.

if you did not give your credit card info to the company, then how did you make the initial purchase? don't they want some up-front money first before they ship out a product? did they get the credit card info out of your account details when you set up the account?

"This is REDICULOUS. I am so infuriated right now I cannot even see straight."

not a good thing. call the credit card company and report it as fraud if that makes you feel any better. otherwise, make yourself a hot toddie and smash the camera with a hammer. stress is bad for your heart.

I am going to call my credit card company after class tonight. I have Discover, but I think they are really good about this kind of thing. If not, I'll cancel it, and open a new one...

The initial box came along with the Proactive. I did not deal with the VitaPower company ever. I did not talk to them, and I did not release my information to them. I did some research, and I am not the only one that has had this problem.

already thought of that.... have easy access to a hammer too..... I promised I would not ruin it until my boyfriends dad looks at is - he's really good with camera and that type of thing. I took it to the mall, and they said I would have to send it to the company.... *sigh*

Yeah Proactive sucks.  I tried it several years ago and it was  PITA to cancel and all that.  Good luck!

haha... thanks. I did call Proactive first, and the lady did confim that my account was cancelled, and I have not seen anything from them in a month, so hopefully all is well there. I only tried it because a good friend said it was the only thing that worked for her... well. doesn't work for me.
I'll call Discover tonight, and mail back the boxes tomorrow on my way to work.....

Discover is great with this stuff----we had issues with something DH ordered online and they were very helpful.

******** Make sure whatever you return is TRACKABLE and not just "return receipt" so you know where it is and who took it back and when. If you get any more things just refuse delivery. Hand it back to the post office (unopened) and they write "refused" on it and return it to the sender. In fact if you haven't opened the boxes you may be able to just hand them back and not have to pay to ship them---ask and see.

Of course you should make sure you document all this Big Smile

Since you already told them to cancel, why don't you tell them that if they want their boxes back they have to send you a "postage paid" sticker for the boxes.  Either that, or they can have Fed-ex or one of those companies stop by and pick them up - postage also paid, of course. Smile

That really stinks, I'm peeved off with you!!! Darn them!!! :::shakes fist::::

    • Gold Top Dog

I called Discover, and they said once I return the boxes, they will persue the fraud charges. So looks like I'm headed to the post office tomorrow, I will try that 'refused' thing, it cannot hurt to ask! I don't mind paying a few bucks s/h as long as they STOP sending this crap!

Well... wish me luck! I will make sure I hang on to the tracking number. =]

I am having difficulties with my camera as well, the charger won't work.  I'm going to call the manufacuterer.  Seeing as your camera is so new, why not bring it back tot he store where you got it from?  They should be able to help, or call the manufacturer directly, they are usually a lot nicer.

With respect to the proactive thing, also make sure to ask for a receipt or written confirmation that your credit card transactions have been cancelled.  And also an acknowledgment as to who received the package from you.

Definitely call and talk to a supervisor!  Don't pay to send those boxes back, just right on it Return to Sender.  And while your really peeved, call the BBB!  I know, I've had crap like this happen, although, they've never charged my cc.  Wonder how they got that in the first place?  Did you have to give the number for some security (on their part) in case you didn't pay?  Curious.

Wishing you luck when you go to the PO tomorrow... I've heard it's hard to cancel a proactiv account so I've stayed away from it so far (I really would like to have a cure for the dang zits I get every dang month!!!) From what I've heard, it would be a big PITA to even deal with them. Sure hope you can send everything back and you get money returned on your card... and I hope you find something to cure your skin prob too! If you do.... let the rest of us know! :)
