Mindless Chatter - Tues

    Mindless Chatter - Tues

Wow, it's pretty crazy around my office today. I haven't had a moments peace since I walked in the door.

I took the dogs to the dog park last night. Big mistake. I kind of figured it would be icy but I didn't think it'd be a sheet of ice. I was pretty worried about the dogs hurting themselves so we hung out at the back of the park where there wasn't any ice. We only stuck around long enough for Neiko to do a few laps around the open field. The only good part about it being icy is that we had the park to ourselves ;p

Dakota is acting like she feels 100% better. She was even wrestling with Neiko last night and trying to bully him around this morning. She STILL isn't eating well though. She probably had a couple of tablespoons of food again. Neiko didn't eat this morning either. I swear I just wanted to scream this morning in frustration at these animals. I think that Neiko didn't eat because Dakota was stressing him out. She was trying to establish her dominant role again because she's been slacking while not feeling well. So, every time Neiko even moved, Dakota would get up and put her mouth on his muzzle. She doesn't bite down. It's just that action that says 10,000 words. Frustrating frustrating frustrating.

Another dreary, cold day here. Got all the christmas cards done yesterday and in the mail today. Later I have to take Maizy and Sammy to the vet for their shots . I think I'll have them try and cut Maizy's nails---that should be a real joy.   Well, besides watching the grandkids and 5 dogs, my father-in-law may be moving in with us soon,as his memory is going----like mine's any better.  Oh God,give me strength!   Drinks   Crying

It was SO cold here yesterday. The wind was vicious, I applaud you Jewlieee going out in that last night. I had a hard enough time staying outside to let Belle relieve herself at agility class. I am not ready for this (though I doubt I will ever be). I need to get started on my holiday stuff. There are not enough hours in a day or days of the week. This year is going to be tough. I need to figure out what to do for my sister and BIL (combo gift) her suggestions are BORING!!! We just had a fire alarm at work. Here we are all standing around trying to decide if it is real or what. Then an annoucement comes over the PA "Code F in the Towsley Center Dow Auditorium!" Code F = Fire So now I am like WOW just then maintenance comes from the Dow area and says "it's ok I think we stirred up some dust". We had a blood drive going in our dining room, we were glad to hear we didn't need to evacuate. That fire alarm is LOUD and annoying. I suppose that is what it is supposed to be.

Oh, it was COLD last night. That wind was killer. I was dressed for the artic though. I had on my ski pants, hiking boots plus a cami, a smart wool shirt with a thick fleece on top of that plus my goose down jacket on top of all that!  I am sick of this cold already, but I do get some relief. Every time I go out in the cold with the dogs for a while, I follow it up with a soak in the hot tub :) There's nothing like a 104 degree soak after an hour + in 15 degree weather!

Gosh, I feel more and more like a wimp for complaining about the weather in los angeles! It's actually about 70 degrees and sunny here, I'm on my way to the dog park in an hour for a training session with otto. We are working on hand signals from a distance. Well I should say I am, Otto doesn't seem to like this part as much as the rest ;) I am kinda bummed though because I had surgery yesterday and I can't take any pain meds today because I have to drive there. Oh well, I guess I'll have to suck it up for two hours ;) I have to say, it is wierd to get operated on by your friends! They did treat me like royalty though, people thought I must have been a celebrity LOL.

Oh, I hear ya!  It finally started to rain a bit here and the cloud cover raises the  temp about 10 degrees so it just "looks" a lot colder than it really is ... but I'm freezing anyway.  I don't think I'd survive a midwest or east coast winter. Big Smile

Ottoluv - Hope you are feeling well after your surgery!

I went to watch an agility class at another facility near where I live last night, and it's not going to be a good fit for us. The people were really nice, and they teach handling class for conformation, so I think I will start doing those, but I am sticking with my agility trainer.

I really wish I could find one facility that teaches agility, obedience and conformation handling. Oh well, maybe someday when I am a trainer I will have that facility... there certainly is a niche open in the local market!

oops, and here I was about to say that I'm taking Gracie to the brand new dog park that is a one block walk from my house (across the street, practically), and that it's 79 degrees here - no worries about heat, though, the park is shaded with new trees and has great grass for G to roll in.  She's been waiting all day while I cleaned and prepped some stuff for the post office. In the coming months it will be too hot for daytime trips to the park, so we're taking advantage while we can!!!  I am bringing my camera to take pics to rub it in,... er, I mean, share! Stick out tongue

    Lol, I love it. Smile

Here, it's more of the same freezing temperatures that everyone else is reporting.  However, it's snowing fairly heavily!  I'm hoping for at least 6 inches, but we'll see.  The good news is that Honor's finally excited about the snow!!!  For those who don't know, Honor DETESTED snow last week.  Tried to avoid it like the plague, and when forced to touch it, picked up her paws 6 feet in the air.  But no longer!  Tonight, DH and I brought toys outside, and she was playing in it like crazy!  She looked marvelous, like a true miniature sled dog.  I was so proud. Big Smile

Anyways, just finished watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (mostly because I work there), and it was really fun to watch!  It's always neat to see how the products look on glamazons. Party!!!

haha! Yes, please post pics. Make my day ;p

Glad to hear that Honor has finally accepted the snow!
