What does your dog do to get you to pet him/her? (jewlieee)

I know you aren't supposed to let your dog demand attention. But come on, we're all suckers for dogs here so I know that you must give in when they pull cute antics to get your attention. So, let's hear them.

When I lay down in bed and flip on the TV, Neiko will jump up, lay his body across me at a 90 degree angle, then stttttrrrrreeeeetch out as long as he can make himself and look at me like "come on, you can't resist petting this wonderful soft furry body!" It's so cute, I give in every time - which is why he keeps going it

Dakota doesn't pull any cutsie moves, she just comes up to me, turns her back and sits down then looks at me out of the corner of her eye like "here's my back, scratch it please!"

Charlie nudges my hand or If i still ignore him then he sits up in a 'beg' posture then falls over on his back. Other times he if I am watching the tube he will come over and lie down almsot in my lap then look at me with big eyes like "You know I am way more important then Desperate Housewives!"

Hammer nuges me or licks my hand. Joe 'grumbles' and woofs at me till I pet him.

Ben will lean on you or gently tap with his paw like "hey.. um.. if its not too much.. you know... if you dont mind... could you maybe... just for a second.. pet me a lil bit?"

Bo will lean on you, nudge your arm, paw, groan... what ever it takes lol

Amber paws or gruffs at you..

Mattie just gets in your lap. she doesn't ask. she knows that you exist only to pet her.

    Kaydee however...

Casey paws at my hand, licks my hand, grabs it with his mouth, nudges his nose under it, whatever it takes at that time... if your feet are up in the air, he will conviently position himself directly under them, and rub his back as if to demand attention...

    I think he's part cat.

If I'm laying on the couch, Crusher will come and lay his head right under my chin.  If I don't oblige, he just stays there and i can't see the tv.  So I pet him...   If I pet him too long though, he will climb right onto my chest.

Onyx is better.  She waits to be called.  Literally from the minute she comes into the house, she is waiting to be called.  I can whisper her name from the other room and she's at my feet in an instant.  "Petting Time?"

They know what works best with me is to come up and just 'sit' in front of me and look at me.

Gracie is the best at sad doggie eyes when she isn't getting the attention she wants. Normally, she nuzzles my neck when she wants to be loved on. Trixie will lay on me and sigh... and it gets me every time :)

Guss rests his head in your lap and looks up at you with puppy eyes.

Since  River was always my demanding dog he learned that sitting nicely infront of me is what gets him attention.  But Brooke is another story, she is my sweet little Cathoula who will start by gentally climbing on your lap and then she lays her head on your chest and looks at you like, please let me stay here and pet me.  Hailie, my pug - just lays on hear back and exposed her big pink belly..

Rosie will come and sit beside you, as if joining you in watching TV, surfing the net, etc, and look back at you every once in a while.

Trooper will sit, as if told to, in the middle of the room and stare at you while giving a nearly inaudible whine. When you look at him, he will be quiet and look away.

When Gingerbread wants a belly rub he kind of throws himself on his back (only if he's on the couch or bed) and waves his paws at you.

If you're laying down then he usually lays on your chest RIGHT by your face.

If you're standing and he's on the ground then he stands on his hind legs waving. It's different though than the usual thing small dogs do when they're standing on their hind legs (kind of a doggie paddle). Gingerbread stands stretched as tall as he can with his paws straight in the air. I call it doing "the lobster". It's one of the silliest/cutest things I've ever seen.

Jewliee, Lizzy does the exact same thing that Dakota does.  I wonder if she has some husky in her.

Brindlewonderkid will put his head on my keyboard.  "Okay, I'll pet you, just let me read my i-dog."
