     Well, it is kind of his job to say stuff like that. *shrugs as well* Marketing.

    Those who are acquainted with atheists (and this is why I think it's sort of important for atheists and people of minority faiths and beliefs to be "out";) know that we're not without hope any more than any other subset of the population includes individuals who are "without hope". I get sick of that accusation because nothing could be further from the truth of my life, but there you have it. It's not the first time I've heard it, nor will it be the last.

    I was happy to see the recent document put out by the American bishops saying Catholics should not be single-issue voters when it comes to abortion rights. I always found it odd that while the Catholic church is adamantly anti-death penalty and anti-war, many Catholic voters only take a candidate's position on abortion in to account (while in this country most politicians who are pro-life are also pro-death penalty). Anyway, the bishops recently counseled American Catholics to take a politician's entire platform in to account, search their own hearts, and vote based on that.
