Where Do Your Dogs Sleep

The first week we brought Prancer home she wanted to get up on our bed, but that's the one place where I've never let my dogs go.  Even tho there's a hugh dog bed in the bedroom (with pillows and a blanket for cuddling) she choose to sleep in her crate (without the door).   After a week or so she decided the dog bed was much more comfortable, and that's where she stays all night until the alarm goes off.

Four of my boys absolutely refuse to sleep any place other than their crates.  I keep offereing to let them stay upstairs, but nope, bedtime is crate time and they insist on going there.

Sheba and Tyler pretty much sleep where ever I happen to be.  It's common for me to fall asleep in my recliner at night.  When Dad goes to bed, Sheba always goes in to snuggle for a bit but then comes back to be with me.  Tyler usually goes in and lays down on the bedroom floor, but rarely gets in bed, and he likes to be where I am too.  If I happen to get up and actually go to bed in the nite, both will come with me, but again, Tyler usually chooses the floor beside the bed while Sheba likes to lay at my feet....or on them.

Bo sleeps on his bed in our room. Ace and Sadie sleep together in a large crate. I don't think I would trust them to sleep out of it until they are quite a bit older and better trained.

I have a futon and I used to not have it built, so I just slept on the flat mattress.  Teddy got half of the bed and I got half of the bed.  When I moved and actually set up the frame, we learned the frame was broken and won't flatten out, which I don't mind, but this upset Teddy quite a bit.  Sometimes he'll try to sleep at my feet, but I apparently move too much for his liking, so he usually sleeps right next to my bed in his dog bed with HIS blanket and pillow (yeah, my dog also has his own dresser... this is why being a single grad student is awful: "I don't want to do research anymore today... hm.... what can I do.... oh!  I can do [x] with the dog!"/"Oh man, this blanket is ratty.  I can't just throw it away though... maybe Teddy would like it!").

OMG, Cressida!! I knew Conrad was big, but hes huge in that picture. Dingo, sleeps in the closet on a bed, Sammy sleeps under the covers, always and Tootsie sleeps right next to me until she gets hot, then she sleeps on her bed in the bedroom.

When we first got Lucy, we had her sleep in a dog bed on the floor next to our bed. We had problems with our Dalmatian growling at us when he was in our bed so he got the boot. Gradually, we started allowing Lucy to sleep at the foot of our bed. Then, this fall I put the flannel sheets on the bed. Our cat, Cletus, loves to sleep under the covers with us but only when the flannel sheets are on. I lifted up the covers to let him under and Lucy dover under right after him! Cletus isn't too happy about losing his favorite winter cuddle spot to Lucy, but she's perfectly happy to keep my feet warm every night!

Gizmo sleeps in his crate in our room a few feet from my bed. When I'm confident he won't get into any mischief (he's 14 months old right now) he'll have the choice of sleeping on his bed on the floor next to my bed or in his crate.

Molly sleeps in her crate at night unless I fall asleep on the sofa watching tv. In that case she is on the sofa sleeping with me.

Oreo is crated in the living room.

    Me, too, Glenda.  [:)

I'm assuming the question meant for during the night when we're sleeping.  At that time, Caleb sleeps on a folded shipping mat in the xpen at the bottom of the stairs.  When we're home during the day, he naps anyplace he wants downstair- usually in whatever room I'm in.

Emma sleeps under the covers, as close as possible to me. Lately, she's taken to tucking her head under my neck (I sleep without a pillow, because I'm weird[;)]) and stretching her body out, against me. I love her snuggles.

Teenie sleeps in her crate, and doesn't get to rotate to the bed. She won't tell me she has to potty, and can't jump off of the bed. I woke up with wet PJs one time too many.

Patiriot usually sleeps on his dog bed (which is next to mine) and Sheila usually sleeps up against the door to my room (she'd rather be in the hall between my room and my parent's room, where she can keep an eye on everyone, but she isn't trusted to let us know she needs out that way). Charlie sleeps behind the love-seat in our den/family room. We have offered both Charlie and Sheila doggy beds before, but the girls prefer to sleep on the floor.

We have Sam in the bed when we first go to bed. We give him love and hugs, he tolerates it for
a few minutes then jumps off and sleeps in his bed (next to ours).  About 5am he jumps back up on our bed and sleeps at the foot of the bed right across our legs.
