2007's Official Holiday decorations thread

We got a tree after all!  Well, it's a baby Blue Spruce that we can plant (or give to someone who can plant it, since we rent).  It came pre-decorated and wrapped in that god-awful gold thing.

My breakfast table is looking more festive!  

(that weird thing tied to the chair is an ornament my boss' wife made me last year.  We had all my work people over for a dinner party and I put it there to be nice)

Gifts for work people (candles/candle holders and little sacks of my homemage "puppy chow" [chex cereal with chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar)

Close-up of this bow/sleigh bell thing I got at the Dollar Tree.  It's now hanging from the pantry door.

I also have this 4' tall wooden giraffe from Ghana in my dining room and I put Coke's doggy santa hat + beard on it.  I'll take a pic tomorrow. 

I finally took some pictures tonight. 

I got a real tree this year.  It is a balsam and it is the most fragarant of trees.  I decorated it with white lights and ornaments.

Here is a general picture of my living room with the tree in the background.  Those are my brother's knees.  I had my family over today for dinner and a little holiday cheer.  We are watching season 2 of the Office.  Also, please notice the Traveling Gnome from Travelocity on the right hand side of the picture.  He's from Macy's, but I thought he looked so much like my favorite gnome.  lol

Now for the outside lights that my dad helped me put up.  The following pictures are of my patio, both with and without flash.

Okay,,,I'm going to try to get a few pics in here. The day and night of my tree...then there is my loft,,it is open on both sides...so I light both but this view is the front that you can see from my kitchen.   HHHmmm wonder how many I can get on one post.

Okay, last two.

 Finally got most of my stuff up.  Here is the big tree in the LR.

and lastly my creche.  I made that 25 yrs ago when a friend and I took ceramics together.  Amazingly, the kids and dogs never broke it!

I haven't had the chance to get much up because we are still unpacking. But I did finally set up the tree today

I am beyond bummed. We put our tree up on Turkey Day and I thought it was one of the best ever!!  Everything seemed so well placed and balanced ...then I went to a dog show in Jackson Ms.... when I got home only 1/3 of the lights were working !!! this am none were.  So now I have to take everything off and re place the lights then re hang all of our heirloom ornaments   sighhhhh I think I'll wait till Friday all of the kids will be out of school and can help.... This is the first time the lights have done this !
