Our wee tree...in all it's fake glory!

No tree (too many animals and we will be gone Dec. 20 - 30).

I put this candle thing on the kitchen table as well as the cool light box my mom made:

No lights outside, I can barely afford the gas and electric bills as is.

I might get stockings and hang them off the entertainment center.

I also stocked up on my favorite holiday scents from Yankee Candle (Christmas Wreath, Mistletoe, Christmas Cookie, Harvest, and Pumpkin Spice) and will be burning these into the new year!

Ahh you remind me I need some candles! Being that our tree is fake we need something piney in the air! Your decorations look great! And your excuse for not having a tree is great...wish I was headed out for vacation lol!

I strongly recommend Yankee Candle Christmas Wreath and Mistletoe.  Their candles are pricey, but they are sooooo worth it and the smell last a long time.  They also have lots of sales and you can sign up to get coupons in your e-mail.  Christmas Wreath smells soooo good, just like the trees my family gets.  I love the smell of pine trees though so it may be personal preference.

This is way to early this year.  Normally I have my decorations up early to mid November, but I still have not finished unpacking... And I haven't figured out where I'm gonna put my tree.  AND bf took the camera with him to his training course in TBay.  Maybe by the time he gets back, I'll have an idea of where things will go... and where they are in relation to all the unpacked boxes in the house.  In any event, i'm more motivated to getting stuff done now...I forgot about decorating.Stick out tongue

I really can't even think about decorating at least until Dec, but here is last year's tree.  This year's will look much the same unless I decide to only put up the smaller tree that I just bought.  This one takes me all day to fluff out, and is a stinker to get back in the bag (DH can't help this year).  I do love it though.

Just ordered 6 new wreaths also...4 unlit ones for the front windows and 2 prelit ones...one for the fireplace and one for the bay window in the kitchen.  I kind of like to keep things simple but festive, and will take more pics when they come in.

OK, it may be early, but I love watching this thread!! I have to start over completely w/my decorations, since all of mine are back East and my BF has none.  So far we have picked up a hilarious cow in a hula skirt and a set of pool balls- all colorful glass ornaments.  Looking forward to a fun tree this year.  LOL

few more of my meager decorations. I want to do the hallway lights BIGGER next year....it's way cool to walk in under it...might leave em up all year round lol.

    Candy cane banister...

    Hallway lights...

    Tree again...lit up this time...

Sorry about the fuzziness...only way I can take a flashless pic so you can see the lights...lit.

I don't think were putting up a lot of decorations this year because of Misty, although, my husband says maybe a good jolt will keep her from chewing on stuff!  No pics, sorry, nothing up yet, hopefully soon.  And Gina, don't worry, my tree's fake too, I prefer them that way, less mess, and I don't have to worry about if I can afford to buy a tree this year!

this thread is inspiring me to decorate. we normally do a lot of decorating, but last year and this year we take off for the holidays to go camping in the mountains, so only the tree and some lights and a wreath or two will go up.

Gina- fake tree owner here too. We have very tall vaulted ceilings and the live trees looks way too short in that room and if we get one tall enough then the thing is so damn big around that there isn't room in the living room for it.

Maybe I will decorate this weekend and post tree pics....

I love seeing everyone's pictures! Your houses look great. I don't think we are decorating (aside from some outside lights), because Luna will eat the tree or pull it over -- she loves sticks. Plus, DH is gone M-F from now until x-mas, so I'd rather spend my weekends with him than decorating.

ETA: Does anyone know how to put a wreath on the front of a car? Do I use a real or fake wreath? Will wire scratch up my grill?

Nice looking trees......we have to get ours yet......that will be happening this coming weekend....and we are also going to see the "Festival of Lights"....can't wait....

Last year I bought a  new 7-1/2 ft. pre lit because the old one was getting pretty crappy looking.  I never did take it apart and shove it into a bag.  I ordered a wrap for it out of a catalog - it just fits around the  bottom, lifts up around the  tree and zips. I kept it parked upright in a corner of the bedroom all year.  When I pulled the wrap down (which was harder than I thought it was going to be - it took 2 people) the tree popped out already "fluffed" out.

I saw those and was considering getting one.  I might have to try to make room in a closet for it, though.  Don't know if I can do that, but I do know it would drive me bonkers to just have it sitting there all year in plain sight.
