    must resist the temptation!!!

This little girl is up for adoption a mere 20 mins from where I live.

Oh....it's so hard not to call. If only I could afford it!!!!

My dear....you have come to the wrong place for assistance with resisting temptation....lol

    gross! what a hideous dog!!

Sorry...i'm a horrible liar Stick out tongue can't help ya there, it's precious!!

It looks like you're going to have to ignore those soft, inquisitive eyes. And soft, fluffy coat with that spectacular mottling or merle, as it may be. And that fact that she's close by.

I know it's tough and I know you will choose correctly. And she looks like a sweetie.

If you resist that, you're a stronger person than I! What a doll! I'm lucky she's not close to me.

Good advice, too. You manage and conserve the resources you have to ensure the quality of life, including food, that you expect for your pets.

My co-worker, R, still hasn't been able to pick up Hauss from the ASPCA.  Hauss developed a cough and they kept him in isolation for treatment. And R is having a hard time convincing his fiance to let him go ahead and get the dog. Hauss is a Pit Bull that was found stray in Mesquite, Tx. I like to refer to him as the 90 lb marshmallow. He would get the new name of Hercules if R could adopt him. R used to have pets and critters growing up. But I did let him know that having a 90 lb dog will require him to buy food in the 40 lb bags as that is the cheapest way to buy food.

Yeah, that's exactly the problem. I've been reminded this week how much money it costs to have pets. First the cat got blocked, $600. Then Neiko got a bug, $200. Now Dakota is sick. I haven't taken her to the vet yet but I imagine she'll be there by Monday. That'll be another couple hundred dollars.

If I didn't have to worry about money, I'd take that pup in a heartbeat. My next dog is going to be a rescued female aussie so she'd be perfect. Except that I can't afford 3 dogs....

Man, I want her she is just too cute!  I understand your problem though!  I couldn't afford her right now either!

I hear you on the money. I've always wanted four dogs, but I'm having trouble even affording a third right now. I keep getting hit with unexpected expenses, $200 here, $300 there, $1000 there. It just amazes me that normally I can be totally fine on money, but when one thing hits, so do five others. I've been doing alot of resisting over the past year, but I have to say the less money I have, the easier it is. She's a very cute pup though, I'm a sucker for merles.

Uhhhm..yeah...I'm drooling over a LITTER of puppies, and man, if I wouldn't be emptying my Christmas funds for one, I'd have been at the shelter a week ago.

Oh, and that's just the females.. The cutest one is male, but I can't do a male dog...

Oh I LOVE the spotted nose---wish I could have 4 dogs. That dog is just adorable, but are'nt they all?

My mom always said throw another potato in the pot, and have beans more than once a week,  then you can fit every one in if you want to....

Yeahhhh right, no disrespect to my Beloved mom but good grief, I don't remember our dog's eating any kind of kibble until I was a teen, they just got leftovers I guess. Mom had 6 kids, a Dalmation and the parakeet that lived for ever ( that is another story).  I have 10 people in my own home, 8 dogs and 5 cats in the cat shelter in the back yard. According to my DH and the accountant I give money away to rescues like we were rich. We definetly aren't.  We frequently have "guests" turn up that are down on thier luck they stay for a few days to several months, for them the extra potato theory is fine.  I regularly donate to the shelter and ALL of my friends who encounter a feeding problem with thier kennels know I will pick up the unused foods and deliver them to the shelter for the expecting girls and puppies, anything has to be better than the cheap, cheap , cheap junk they are forced to feed.  I am great at scavenging . I had to put a cap on our house dogs however, like you vet bills are a bugger and I have to stay realistic.  I rarely breed, since I have to be sure I can afford to take back every pup I breed.  My pack runs mostly geriactric right now. 5 retired show and therapy dogs, all altered and 3 up and commers , with shows and gas as expensive as it is I really have to be creative.

I found a really good kibble that my dogs are doing great on, and I supplement with raw chicken, my oldest gets a pricer kibble ( EVO) but then she has some health issues so I'll do everything I can for her. I limit vaccines to the absolutely necessary ones , and I go holistic methods for flea, tick, etc. buying in bulk, entering shows carefully all help me stretch a budget that already screams for mercy.  I am not allowed to go to the buildings at the shelter I phone them and they come to my car in the drive way. The family agreement is I won't bring in any more than we can afford , time, money and space for and the faily will help me as cheerfully as possible. An impromptu pup could cost me space for a puppy I have bred. Or a future puppy.  They leave it up to me. Like tight jeans the thought has it's own ability to restrict my impulses!

She isn't in a kill shelter is she???  If not , then let go and trust the perfect family to find her. If she is contact the shelter and see if you could foster her?  Maybe the breed club could help out?  Either way the best of luck all around kiddo, we have all been there !
