have other causes been ruled out?
I can attest to dealing with a leaking dog can be a hassle and I did it for YEARS with my previous dog. I got her bitch britches and bought cheap pullups for inside the diaper.
Her leakage was mainly due to her liver disease. Can't recall how that all worked but she did have bouts of UTIs at one time having emergency surgery to have stones removed from her uretha and bladder, and she tended to have spay incontience.
Yes it was a PITA - BUT I dealt with it. One summer, really hot humid week, she was on a diuretic and pred to help get rid of some of the excess fluids build up from her liver disease. I took the week off from work and stay attached to my mop cleaning up after her.
I loved but dog....and if my sons had had a leaking problem I would have done as much for them as I did for her.
I simply did it....when she died and I didn't have to deal with it anymore it was a relief - yup a relief. I knew she wasn't going to live forever, the cleanup was temporary although it went on for the final 3 years of her life. I simply wanted her to be with me more than I worried about the hassle of mopping up after her.
