From their website:
Many people may find a great, crossbred dog or puppy at their local Humane Society. Though, not everyone is so lucky. If you go looking for a dog at the human society keep in mind these things and choose carefully: A dog is most likely at the Human Society for a reason. 20% of all dogs at the Humane Societies, came from Humane Societies, and were brought back due to difficulty Training or aggressive behavior.
Translation, most people are too damn lazy to train their dogs, and equate barking, leash pulling, and growling at strange dogs with "aggression." Because they were too lazy to train their dog, they then dump it at the shelter after it spent it's first year of its life being yelled at and possibly beaten, for not being able to read it's owner's mind and turn itself into Lassie.
Because it had stupid owners, it's now been labeled as a "problem" dog. But oh, I forgot...puppies are supposed to raise themselves! [8|]
41% of all dogs brought into Human Societies, people had gotten free or for $100 & under.. Free & cheap dogs/puppies are not looked on as valuable enough.. Not taken to puppy classes, owners not bonding with them enough... Many are strays...
Geez, I wish someone had told me before now how much money I've been wasting on my "cheap" dogs! I paid $55 for two of my dogs, $30 for one, and the other was free. Just think, if I had known how little they were actually worth, I could have saved thousands! [:'(]
I know PLENTY of people with $3,000 dollar dogs who treat their dogs like crap. In my experience, the "charging higher prices means people will take care of their animals" thing has not proven true.
Good homes for our puppies is also very important!
So we should all buy from puppy mills and BYBs because those puppies are deserving of good homes too? How about not treating dogs as money making machines in the first place?
We do encourage spaying and neutering thus the reason we give our discount if you plan to have your pet as only a pet and not a breeder.
"We highly encourage the elimination of all competition!" [

] Wouldn't want their rare and valuable "Dakota Sheperds" being bred by anyone else!
Being a responsible pet owner is part of being a good pet owner.
Being a responsible pet owner means not supporting greaseballs like these people. Yeesh.
