Brother that put puppy in oven convicted

They got off way too easy! [sm=evilfire.gif]  That poor puppy- what it must have gone through. I literally could vomit, it makes me that upset. [:(]
There is no way they can rehabilitate those two kids. They are sociopaths on their way to being the 'Jeffrey Dahlmer' brothers...... they are beyond therapy. They should have been burned alive like they did that poor puppy.

Because I have nothing better to do and was curious, I looked it up...

In Georgia, felony burglary gets 1-20yrs for a first offense, 2-30 for a second,5-20 for a third.
Animal abuse is also a felony in GA (as of 2000) but the max prison time is 5 yrs.

So it would appear the judge gave the max sentence for the abuse and my issue is with the law... although I would have liked to have seen those sentences served consecutively, oh well....

Those men don't need counseling, or any help honestly. The legal system is a little odd honestly, It seems like a typical american response. (i am one by the way) "counseling or what their parents did" blame someone else....They broke into a place and got more time than tourturing an animal. ???? Bad boy, don't break into a house!!! Put an animal in an oven is bad but not as bad a breaking into a house! Slap on the wrist! If my son did that...what the court would give him would be light compared to what he would get a home if I got a hold of him....Wait I can't spanking is illegal now to.....

I hope his cell mate is about 6'9" 450lbs and his name is Ben Dover, and he meets him 9 times a day...

I was quite sickened when I read that it had come out in court that the petition had collected 17000 sigs from around the world and numerous letters had been sent but the judge refused to even look at them and said she wouldn't be swayed by the public.  But finding out that her hands were tied by the law, I can understand.  Imagine being that judge and not being able to give them more than 5 yrs.... how frustrated would you be???

ETA:  "I have not viewed any of the letters and will not view any of the letters or petitions. I've not viewed the petitions either. We will take what has been the evidence in this case, presented in this court. Where there has been the opportunity for the State to present, the defense to cross examine and vice versa," said Judge Thelma Wyatt Cummings Moore.

Some of the judges in the Atlanta area are beyond dumb.  I doubt if she was restricted as to adding the 2 sentences together, rather than running concurrently. It is just a flawed legal system run by incompetent judges

This sort of things ticks me off too. The only way to counteract that happening again is 'we the people' stepping up & making the effort to change each state law to make it stricter for cases like this. Unfortunately that takes more effort than simply signing a petition, not everyone would be so willing to do so.

Read this on AOL news this morning.  Those creatures actually showed the body to children and told them "We will kill you if you tell."  Also some posted a copy of some report--but i could not say it was true--that the boys had been in trouble before for burglary, assult and even child molesting.  But i don't think those things could even be brought out in the trial.  Back in Dec. '73 a drunk driver crossed over the white stripe and cross two lanes of on coming coming traffic side of the road, hit my 29 year old cousin head on and killed her..mother of 3 young boys.  now this guy had crashed a fence and totaled h is car a month before while drunk, his 2ed time for a DUI.  He wa on probation, not suppose to drink a single beer.  BUT at the trail, the prosc. couldn't  mention that because it would predjuice the jury.  However the defense put on two "pals' of the guy who said he had only had 2 veers when they left him 2 hours before the accidnet and he was not drunk.  The guy claimed he was changing his tape (actually the old 8 track) and took his eye off the road for a second.  The highway patrol said he smelled strongly of beer, had slurred speach, was unsteady on his feet, but no test for alchol was done. The def. claimed he was "shook up" from the accident.   He walked out scott free because his past record of DUI and accidents could not be entered.

First of all, when I first read about this in the paper, I wasn't sure if I should cry or throw up.  I can't even comprehend what would lead a person to do such a thing.  That poor little puppy.  To hurt something so helpless and to have FUN doing it.  It's disgusting and awful and makes my blood boil.

That said, I do have to take exception to this:

"I  hope his cell mate is about 6'9" 450lbs and his name is Ben Dover, and he meets him 9 times a day... "

While I fully agree that these two boys are sick and depraved and do NOT deserve to be walking the street in 10 years, I don't see how wishing rape upon ANYONE is ever excusable.  Honestly, I'm appalled that someone would even say such a thing.  Think about it...if these boys don't get help, they'll be back in the world in 10 years, hurting people no doubt.  Getting raped for the next decade won't make them any less likely to reoffend.

They HAVE to be helped, otherwise this jail sentence is really a joke.  But that's the problem with the penal system.  Prisoners come out worse than they were when they went in.  Pretty sick if you think about it.

I do agree it is a little rough on them,
Ok, then just bind up their hands and feet and do the same to thing to them they did to the puppy. They tourtured and burned alive an animal that did nothing wrong but look cute and follow them around.
What kind of help are these kids going to get?? Counseling?? Maybe they can blame their parents or video games for their actions, punish someone else, get a book deal or tv movie out of it. These kids are sick, depraved monsters and deserve everything they get in prison. They are lucky, they should get sent to a prison in some 3rd world country, then 10 years will be a good sentance. Maybe a good 10 years in the Ban Kwai Hilton in Thailand would do them good.

[:'(][:'(][:'(]That is just disgusting, honestly I would have liked for them to be burned alive on their way to hell!!![sm=evilfire.gif]The connection has been proven many times animal abusers are human abusers/serial killers but I guess the legal system doesn't know that.Soooo gross I was watching one of those forensic files shows and it was about a girl who got murderd and decapitated anyways the guy who did it was one her friends, the investigators found in his diary he wanted to be the most famous serial killer[:'(]His friends said he would often go to the pound get acat or dog and decapitate it keep it's head in the freezer and call it his"trophy"[:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(]why are people like this even born[:o]

Because we aren't allowed to spay and neuter their parents, most of whom should not have been allowed to breed...[:'(]

Did you guys/ gals read this...

There is something wrong with the judicial system when we value animals more than we value children. I haven't read about people signing petitions to make sure parents, guardians, relatives and others serve a harsh sentence for child abuse and cruelty. The man who poisioned his kids with soup got less of a sentence and I am betting the family who beat their 8 year old son to death will probably get the same sentence as these teens. I think 5 years is more than enough for a pitbull who will probably maul a child to death within the next two years!!"

I already posted under Margaret.  I don't want to repeat my self.  Someone please please put this "child advocate" in her place.

Say something like...  I'm a college graduate happily married mother of 2 .  Our family pet is a pitbull that we love dearly that at 13 years old has not grown up to "maul" anyone.  Hmmm, must be something wrong with my pitbull since it hasn't mauledanyone yet.

You know you always think of these things after  you already post.

17 and 19 are not children.

I was living on my own and paying for my own college education at 19, not cooking puppies and threatening the lives of children.  Infact, I was volunteering at an animal shelter at 19.  I did not come from the best of homes.  I don't know what these idiots need.  Yes I would agree that they need help.  I would also throw their parents in prison, but at that age they are not children and need to be held responsable for their reactions.  But, really, I'm thinking these boys are sociopaths and should not be alowed back into society.
