    Worrying.....

Nope. I had seen it before and I have to admit that the first few seconds made me smile (it is just so weird) until I looked at the dog body language more closely (had to watch a couple of times). This dog is not playing in my eyes, he is food guarding against himself and pretty aggressively too. Look at the wrinkles above his nose, how much teeth he shows, the shape of his mouth when he goes for his leg... He only stops when he realizes he is on the verge of biting himself. I would not feel comfortable trying to retrive any chewie or toy from such a dog.

I think it's really disturbing when dogs guard from themselves. I honestly don't understand how anyone thinks it's funny. [8|]

Phew, thought I was on my own there.

I heard those people laughing hysterically in the background and the whole time I was feeling slightly disturbed by the fact the the dog is resource guarding from himself.  That's just not normal IMO.  It'd be like me going into a mental patients ward and laughing at some poor guy who was frenziedly attacking his own arm.

people still think it's funny because they don't understand that it is a problem. I have seen that clip before and laughed my head off. Not because I was insensitive, but because I didn't know dog behavior at all. I didn't even own a dog when I saw that clip.

I don't even have to go to youtube and watch that because I know exactly what y'all are talking about. I can understand someone who really knew zilch about dogs thinking that's funny, but can you imagine living with dog? I would cease to find that behavior funny after about 2 days if that was actually my dog, even if I previously didn't know squat about dogs or that particular behavior. Can you imagine the incredible stress this dog is constantly under? I would definatley consider dogs that gaurd from themselves to be very mentally ill and in need of immediate behavioral modification by a professional.

I find it disturbing and scary. I would be really worried if that was my dog. Sounds like kids laughing in the background, I'd be very leary about having a dog like that around children.

That clip has been on AFV tons of times.  It won the owners $10,000 one year, and now they replay it every now and then for craps and giggles.

Kinda like the whole cat montage.
