    hose for bathing

Has anyone used the hose sold on the dog.com site or one like it that attaches to your sink or outside faucet? I have a small dog and don't want it to be too strong. Also, does it have an on and off or does the water run continually? Thanks.

I use it, but its a pain for me to hook it up, so I just use the bathtub water.

Can I ask why it is a pain to hook up? Is the water pressure real hard? I don't want to hurt my 7-pound dog. When you turn the water on at the faucet do you then have an on/off button on the sprayer? It would be nice to have something that doesn't spray water the whole time.
    Thanks!

I haven't used this particular one, but I can tell you we have been through about three of these things for various reasons. One leaked so much at the faucet it had practically no pressure coming out of the nozzle, another one did not fit our tub faucet at all once we moved into the new house, and the third one we have didn't fit right quite right either, so DH did some kind of monkey-ing around with the faucet and a pipe (making my tub look horrible) but at least it fits. It is a strong spray though, but it can be controlled by the water pressure. Good luck, it's been a lot harder to get one to work for us than I ever imagined!

I was bathing my dog in the bathtub, so I just swapped out the showerhead for a detachable massage-type showerhead.  There are a lot of different showerhead options at places like Home Depot, and you can vary the strength and intensity of the water that comes out.  I'm not sure, but there are probably some where you can switch off the stream entirely.  I'm not super handy, but it was a really easy project, and it's soooo much easier to wash the dog with it.  He is 50 lbs though, not tiny like your pup.  But maybe that would work for you too?

Shenzi gets her baths in the laundry room sink (it's deep)...she's a little too big for it now, but I hesitate to put her in the tub.  She behaves pretty well in the sink anyway...it's just a little awkward hoisting a 35+ # dog into a sink!  roflmao...

I used to use one I bought one at Lowe's that replaces my shower nozzle and has a number of settings and a hook so I can shower with it as well as using it on the dogs. It is sold as a pet shower sprayer but the only difference between that and some of the other ones was the length of the hose (the length on most shower sprayers is not enough).

Now I have one that is plumbed into the water pipes at my bathtub. These sprayers cost somewhere around $100 - $150 plus the plumber but if you are doing a dog regularly it might be worth it. Mine has about 5 different settings so there is no problem having too hard a spray on the little dogs. (It's fine for my 4 pounder.)
