Custom Dog Clothing?

I want to start a website or some kind of business about custom dog clothing (similar to the ones I make for my Gizmo) I am not trying to sell anything here but only ask all of you for your advice.

For all you regulars I am also willing to send out a sample to you. This will be like dog-cycle, I send you the clothing and I only ask that you send me your remarks, comments and pictures of your pup in return. I would need some measurements of course since they will be custom made. I have only made these for my own dog and a friend so I#%92m a little new at designing for others; this is sort of an experiment. I want to do this to see if it will be worth my time to go all the way with it and to see if I can.

Your clothes are so fun!

I wonder if you'd be able to do something with back legs, too? Think: pajamas. I have a freezing hound dog that shivers in bed (we like it cold, she doesn't) and wonder what I can do for her to help her stay warm.

Would this be a project you'd be willing to tackle? I'd, of course, be willing to send fabric, notions, or whatever you'd need.

Edit: I don't think I'd be considered a 'regular' since I haven't been here too terribly long, so please feel free to say no or to move on to others first.

Never tried pajamas but it's would be worth a try, I'm sure I could do it somehow. I first made them to cover Gizzys back hips when it gets cold, she has arthritus so she needed something and now sewing has become a hobby.

What measurements would you need, exactly? I've never measured for dog clothes before!

I have a suggestion that may (or may not) be helpful. When I was making patterns for dog clothes I needed something to practice on that would hold still to get the curves and such right. They sell dog manequins that are used in pet shops to display clothes and they come in different sizes. I looked but didn't see them on dog.com but I know they have them at petedge.com

] Live subject are just so much fun and doing this I'm hopeing to get an idea of how it will work with the owners sending me the mesurments.

For what Giz is wearing I would need the length of the back, from collar to base of tail and the length around the neck, about what you would use for a collar size (it will fit a little looser than the collar).

We have a really cold senior Great Dane that could use something warm to cover her hips.Let me know if you are interested and what measurements you need!

I would LOVE to have a tshirt for Ella to wear.
An anti-BSL tshirt or something to that effect. Or just a cute girly tshirt that she could wear around the house.

What a great idea.... I love the custom clothes some dogs have.... Sammy is jealous of jjsmom's greyhounds and their pj's - JJ and Pru are so stylin' that Sammy wants a pair.... but would have to wait until his gotcha day for a present and that's in June so he won't need pj's then [

] Teenie's good for practicing weird shapes (being a Dachshund and all) and Emma's just a normal shaped, deep chested dog.

ETA: If you did send us something, could we send Giz a bag of dog treats, or something?

Rose and Colton would love to be models. And of course, I would send some stuff for Giz! I have a sewing machine, but I don't really know how to sew very well and I just don't have too much time with school!
