Training and Shelter for a future profession?

For a while (about since I was 7) I wanted to be a vet very very badly. This was even when I was constantly training my dogs. About a month ago, I was torn between dogs and horses, training and vet work, and breeding and shelter....I decided I want to (hopefully) fet a PhD in animal behavior, psychology, or something having to do with the way animals think.I really want to have a really big farm, and have have for horse training and rescue, and the other half for dog training and rescue.

I want my dog shelter and training shelter to be a lot different than the rest of themm. Completely +R (but a lot are) using absolutely no corrections using all of Chris Bach's methods, and I want  to do Puppy, basic and intermediate classes in OB, and a few drop in schutzund and agility classes. for horse training, I want to do hunter/jumper, dressage and cross country, but I want to train the horses. not the people[>:]

As for the dog shelter, It'll be no kill and I'l try to have thick matting in every kennel. Each dog will get individual play and training time, and will have group play sessions every day.

There is a lot more, but everyone tells me this goal is unattainable. I think it'll be extremely difficult, but not unattainable. What are your thoughts?

I think it is attainable, but it will be very hard. Start saving now, because the shelter you are talking about is going to require loads of money, and you will eventually have to pay other people to come in and help you, depending on how large of a shelter you wish to have. Also, starting out you aren't likely to recieve donations from the public, so it will be a lot of money out of pocket from the start. Which by the way you talk about it seems like it wouldn't be a problem, but I think that is going to be the biggest obstacle you have. I wish you luck! We need more people like you in the world.
