Reiteration - Transport from Denver to East Coast

I'm posting this again because we've now made the commitment to bring Gus here for sure somehow. Gus is a six year old Border Collie who is losing his job and home on a big ranch near Denver (Eaton, CO) because he's losing his hearing. I am bringing him here to become a permanent part of our family and help Patrick out with chores as long as he keeps what hearing he has. I don't want to fly him for fear of damaging what is left (I find it more than coincidental that he started losing his hearing after the first time he was flown).

Someone sent me a link to an overland pet transport service but the link didn't work.

Failing that, I've got someone going from Denver east to Kansas, then someone going from Kansas City across MO, and from there it would be fairly easy to either set something up or go myself. I'd just do the whole trip myself but we are getting close to lambing here and I can't leave for a week or more.

Please contact me if you or someone you know wouldn't mind a paying passenger, quiet, well-trained, neutered Border Collie.

    Becca,
When does the dog have to be picked up by?  I have a friend who is a professional horse hauler and he is traveling all the time.  Though I am not sure when he is going east again because his wife (my best friend who I met through Paul, can't thank him enough for marrying her lol) has a meeting in Switzerland and he is going to join her there and take a mini vacation.
Paul has transported dogs before and I am sure he would be willing to help you out.  Also if you get in a bind get a quote from uship.com.  I found you can get some really good rates there.
    Good luck!

Gus' current owner is not in a huge hurry. He's pretty broken up that Gus can't stay but Gus is the kind of dog that NEEDS work and the work he does would be dangerous if the dog can't hear his commands (fiddly stuff with cattle and range sheep, half a mile away).
