Some stupid breeder in my area...

I work for a pet product distributor.  I'm in pet stores all day.  Today, while I was reseting an aisle for one of my "closer to home" clients.  I saw 3, very young, too  young, chihuahua puppies come into the store.  I was there 3 hours and saw this.

My assumption is a breeder "released" her puppies today.  My, they looked too young.  They were making puppy crying noises.  2 of the 3 brought the pup in, in a blanket, the other dumb @ss brought his pup in naked.  Like a really young, really tiny puppy should be naked like that in 15 degree weather.

Anyways, it is a law in my state that puppies cannot be sold before 8 weeks, but somehow a few are slipping through the cracks.  I've seen 4 week old pits, lots and lots of 5 week old shelties (I've seen the 5 week old shelties at different time of the year, but have continued to see them for 3 years now, so I assume it's some dumb breeder), and now, I'm guessing, 5 week old chihuahuas.

I bet if you coo at the pup and make "oooh I've been looking for a pretty puppy like this..."noises,  you could find out how old the pups are, and you could get a name and number for who sold them [;)]

Yes, and then you could call your state vet or spca and turn those "breeders" in...[;)][8D]

That's a good idea.  There have been a couple times that I've asked "how old?"  Most of the time my assumption is right - too young.  And most of the time they are too young, they come from breeders in Michigan, which isn't too far away from where I'm at.   And , unfortunatly in Michigan it  legal to sell them at any age.

I am beginning to wonder if people are driving across state lines to get super young puppies.  Like they think it will bond with them better if it's bought young.
