My dog has Manners when he FARTS!!

So, Conrad has some anal gland issues. He expresses them kind of randomly and at not the most opportune of moments, and then he has to lick to clean himself up. And lick, and lick, and lick and SLUUUURP. It's revolting. Over the years, he has actually learned to leave the room before commencing the licking because it seriously drives both DH and I insane. Especially at 3 AM. So he'll very quietly get up, leave the room (leaving a trail of stench behind him) and go somewhere else to lick, then quietly come back in and go back to bed.

He'll also stop licking (if he's just licking to groom or because he's nervous) if DH or I say "Conrad, stop."

I think that he's just picked up on our annoyance. Before he learned to leave the room a lot of the time we'd freak out: "Argh! Ew! Conrad! Go!" (both dogs take directional commands with "go" followed by one of us pointing to where we want them to go). So now he just commands himself to "go!" and leaves us out of it! It's awesome and if I'm awake I'll always thank him for being so polite. []

Mine will fart, then look at me all offended like,  as if I did it instead of him.

Hopefully he knows not to come back wanting to give doggie kisses

After a particularly noisy fart, mine looks at his bum with what appears to be a mixture of curiosity and disdain.

Believe it or not, in the 4 yrs we have had Kobi, I have never heard or smelled one fart!

We've had a recent fartfest on california natural as you may have read.  2 out of 3 dogs will, once they fart (SBDs), peer at their rear, sniff, and walk away in a disgusted manner, leaving the stench in my lap or at my feet, depending.

Funny though are the occasions when teh fart makes a "pthhsssquuueeeeet!" sound and the dogs whip their noses around as if to say "what the??!" lol 

My oldest GSD's farts are silent, but deadly, most of the time you will never know he did it, then the fumes start burning your eyes.....he never moves[8D]

Our eldest dog RUNS AWAY when he farts!  Cracks us up every time.  Sometimes he loks back as if to say "what the heck was that????"

Chyna gets the walking farts.  It goes kinda like this step,fart,step,fart,step,fart.  It's really embarrasing when that happens in Petsmart.[8|]

I remember one time when Blackhawk had such stinky farts that he'd wake himself up out of a dead sleep and leave the room!
