What does your dog know?

...they play pranks on each other (one has a toy the other wants so the second dog comes over to me and starts loving on me-the first dog comes over-dropping the toy in the process and second dog retrieves said toy and taunts the first dog with it.)

Willow and Oakley do their own version of this.  When one is getting attention, the other will run off and find a toy to distract...the ol' bait & switch, lol.  Oakley falls for it every time...leaves the petting to get the toy from her...when he's distracted with the toy, she's moves in for some lovin'.

Reminds me of something else they do.  Willow hates to ring the bell to go potty, so Oakley senses this and rings it for her.  She'll just stand around, head hanging low, and stare me down...psychically telling me she has to go potty, and how barbaric and undignified it is too ring that darn bell.  Oakley jumps to the task.  Unbelievable.

I, too, "Pity the poor owner who doesn't know what he/she has."

Casey knows: basic obedience, some agility (isn't very drivey, so for now I'm sticking to training Carley as my first agility dog), beg, wave, shake, high five, bang, put 'em up, roll over, kiss, touch, crawl, hug, get out of the room, speak, knock over a chair, climb a small ladder, the mean trick of keeping a treat on her nose until I say get it (or clap, if I say you can get it only if I clap) and she tosses it up and catches it, to keep a treat in her mouth without eating it until I say get it, hit Carley, wag your tail.
Carley knows: agility, basic obedience, beg, wave, shake, high five, give me ten, bang, roll over, bark, whisper, howl, crawl, get out of the room, stop as soon as I say stop, a little closer and she walks a bit, touch, take, we're starting some frisbee, get your tennis ball, want to feed the pigs?- where she goes to my room to help feed my guinea pigs, and I think that's about it.  I know I'll remember more after I post this though.

Tasha only knows sit, shake, and no. Ive only had her for a month tho and havnt worked with her much :/ She did learn sit and shake very quickly but usually will only do it for treats. She already knew what no means when I got her.

Oh, I forgot, Tasha fetches too.  Not on command though, it's a game of fetching toys.[:)]

And I just today taught her to "dance"

Some things some of mine know (different dogs do different things).

    - Sit
    - Down
    - Shake paw
    - High Five
    - Other hand (high five with other paw)
    - Wait
    - Kisses
    - Leap frog
    - Spin
    - Watch
    - Touch (targetting)
    - Wait
    - Let's Go (for off-leash walks, means please stop sniffing and come with me now)
    - This Way (for off-leash walks - direction change)
    - Slow down (for off-leash walks - don't get too far ahead of me)
    - With Me (walk by my side)
    - Free (go off-leash or on a longer tracking line)
    - Say Please (play bow)
    - Go to Bed (goes to kennel, opens door with paw, goes in, shuts door with paw, lays down)
    - Bedtime (go to my bedroom because it's time to sleep)
    - Up (jump up on something)
    - Off (get off of something)
    - Over (jump over something)
    - Through (go through tunnel)
    - Various other agility things (dog walk)
    - Here - recall
    - Heel - both conformation-style and we're working on a Rally-O style
    - Go ahead (go down stairs ahead of me)
    - Working on Rally training now, so I'll just lump those behaviours into one category.
    - Clean up (put all toys away in basket)
    - Take It (iniation of tug)
    - Drop It (give me whatever it is you have please....used in both everyday situations and in tug games)
    - Not cue-trained, but my person-fearful girl has been both classically and operantly trained that strangers = food, and perhaps strangers/touching together = better food (with some people, not all people).

    I know I'm forgetting.....something....haha. Or a few something's....I don't usually write out everything I've trained my guys.

    Bailey knows:

    Sit
    Stay
    Down
    Come (sometimes)
    Off
    Heel (sometimes)
    Inside
    Where's Puffy? (the cat)
    Leave it

We just taught her "touch".  Its so simple and fun know that she knows it.   I thought she was dense and wasn't catching on and then all of a sudden she knows.
Our obedience commands have gotten a bit rusty since she has been confined due to her ACL injury.   She can go for short walks starting next week so that is when she learns to listen again :)

After a couple of times repeating words and doing an actoin, Sam learns what the word means. He knows the names of all his toys, sit, come, shake, kiss, car, dog park, Meijer, door, walk, run, bike, shoe, leash, family members names, some dogs names, to pull with his harness on (he still doesn't get heel [:o]), cheese, food, breakfast, dinner, go get it, where's your ball, go away, and no. He probably knows more, too, I am just not fully aware of it. he also just taught himself how to open the dishwasher.

Mine know a variety of commands for manners and tricks between them but what I've realized they all know are these:

    Getouta here
    Let me up
    Move over
    Getouta the fridge
Mind your own business (when one dog is bothering another).
Go outside. Not that door, the doggy door door

And my all purpose: Godamit - which they hear as "everyone better move away because we don't know what's happening but it ain't good".

If anyone has a way to teach "quiet!" to 15 poodles, please let me know.

Nina knows: sit, stay, wait for it, bring, drop, where's your squeaky, where's your ball, where's your frizbee (the differnce between the three), load up, unload, gimme a kiss, gimme that sock, what do you have in your mouth (I know this because when I say it she takes off the other way), lets go to bed.

Zoey knows: sit, stay, wait for it, load up, unload, come here pretty girl Zoey, where's your squeaky (which counts for any toy within 50 feet), gimme a kiss, let's go to bed, gimme that sock and anything Nina knows 'cause she always looks to see what Nina's gonna do before she does it!

It's amazing though isn't it? ...when you write it out and actually see all the things they do know (and keep remembering when someone else writes it out).  Things we've taught...and behaviors that they naturally know or learned on their own by observing our behavior (facial expressions, etc) ...it's like, WOW, they know A LOT of stuff!
