    Biggest Influences

What is the biggest influence you had on another person#%92s dog?

For example I got my parent to stop feeding their dogs Ol Roy, they now feed their overweight dog a weight management food and the other is on much better stuff.

So what are some things youv#%92e done or said to other dog owners that really made them change their mind about the way they do things with their dogs.

Lots of food changes. People ask all the time what they can do to help with itching or coat growth. A guy asked me the other day how to give his weight pulling dogs an edge, and I told him to feed raw. He'd already been considering it, and asked a few questions, then headed out to "find a slaughterhouse".

I love seeing the difference in dogs, after they're on better foods!

my neighbour got a german shepherd pup and never socialized it or trained it. It stayed in a pen all the time. By two years old it was biting and attacking. My neighbour had decided they were going to put him down. I couldnt bear to hear that considering it wasnt the dogs fault. He always had a liking for me so i decided to spend some time with him. I took him for his first walk with a halti. It was extremely difficult because he would go nuts if a human was close by or another dog. But i did it everyday. Eventually i taught him to heel and i slowly started to socialize him. Now he is a whole new dog. He has become a part of their family. A part of me is angry that they never took care of him but at least i did help the dog out. Thats all that matters

Fostering one dog.  Some of you know about my one foster, Molly.   I hope I influenced her life for the better.  In the 10 short days I had her I had the pleasure of seeing her true potential.  I'm pretty sure I had an impact on her self confidence.  I could almost hear her saying when I first got her "I can't do it".  After even a few days that changed to "I think I can do it, especially if it makes you happy, mom."  I think I gave her a chance @ a much better home than her previous one.
The other influence I've had is on one friend who always gave her dogs smoked bones.  Now she's giving her girl raw bones.
