I know this belongs to the Advocacy section, but I thought it would get more traffic here.
There is a petition going around for House Bill 2991 which would give stiffer penalties to those who engage in the dog meat trade in the Philippines. Although dog meat trade is illegal, the penalties are not severe (currently a payment of P1000-P5000, which amounts to about $20-$500 only) and there is a lack of law enforcement due to corruption and bribery. If you can, please take a few seconds to sign the petition.
