We took my puppy Mirelle to the boarding kennel two days ago, where she's going to stay for about three weeks while she's in heat. (Don't worry, the reason she wasn't spayed is because she's going to be a potential breeder for the service dog organization, CCI) And they require that she stay in a kennel while she's in heat.
I miss my sweet little puppy though! This is her first time being boarded at a kennel and also the first time I've had to board one of my dogs anywhere. The place where Mirelle is staying is about 10 minutes from our house, so I'm going to go and visit her and take her out every day that I can while she's staying there. And when we're not able to come, we've arranged for someone to take her out and play with her.
She had to go there on Thursday, and I was nervous at first leaving her there, but I got to talk with the lady there and she answered all of my questions, and it sounded like it will work out fine. So I felt a lot better leaving then. They'll let me come and take her out whenever they're open, and I take her for walks around there and I can play with her in a large fenced in area too. I'm also going to be able to use their training building on weekends, which will be nice.
I know a lot of you have probably boarded your dogs and it's not really a big deal, but since this is my first time, I'm glad that everything is working out fine so far.
I'm trying to convince myself that it's a good experience for her training and will be good for her. It's also good for me too to get used to her not being here, since she'll have to go back for advanced training in May. But anyway....I just thought I'd let you all know so you can maybe think about me. [

] I think Cassidy enjoys being a single dog, especially since I've been spoiling her a little [
