What size Kong do you use?

I went and got a Kong for my soon-to-be adopted Golden Retriever. I went to their website, and they recommend an Extra Large one for a GR. It just seems a little big. So that made me wonder what size do all of you use for your dog?

Molly by their chart should have a small kong. I thought it was to small so I got a medium and it works out great for her. My daughter has a black lab mix and I think she got a large and is working out fine. Sorry I can`t be of more help to you.

We use a large for Gracie, who is 68 pounds, and a medium for Tookey, who is a small, but fat terrier! Technically he should use the small, but it was small enough for Gracie to get in her mouth whole, so we went up a size to make sure she couldn't do that. Bigger is better than smaller.

I only brought her a puppy kong and one of those space ship type of kong and that was about it.  She's not too crazy about kongs and so I rather buy her bones, plushies and soft toys.

My beagle uses a medium, and I'd like to get her a larger one since her whole meal doesn't fit in it.  I end up having to put half in the Kong and half in a new toy similar to the Kong called a Groovy.  My pointer is going to get an X-large.

The doberman 75# uses the xlarge black kong.  Boxer 60# & 50# Mutt use the red large kong.  The dobie & gsd pups use the large puppy kong, & the 2 dachhunds use the medium puppy kongs.

Jules has two of the small dog/puppy kongs.  (because he keeps losing them) Legend doesn't have one, as he doesn't chew on things like that

I think, maybe, this is the large one, we have one that's black that's the wolf one, this ones Houston's favorite.

I've got a 95lb top chewer and we use the black XL -
We may have to board him so I may buy him the black Ultra just so its harder to get the food out and I would feel safer that he didn't chew it apart

The 2 goldens I know (female 75lb & male 105lb) are not nearly as intense a chewer so you may want to start with the XL red and go from there

I use the large one (regular red) with my Golden and the Lab has one that is not a Kong brand but a cheapo imitation that would be the equivalent of an extra large. Both are still intact after several years but they do not use them heavily. They have no interest on chewing on them when they are empty so we use them exclusively frozen which results in a lot of licking and pawing but no real chewing.

I had a medium for Sammy (47lbs) but he lost it and now we have a large.  The medium was too small for him anyway, I think.  But, his whole meal doesn't fit so I've been considering going a size up, but then right now he can't get to the back of a kong anyway so I just put kibble at the bottom that falls out so he can get at it.  So I don't know yet, but a second one would make life a lot easier.

We have a large black kong for Dasher (JRT).  But he is a crazy strong chewer.  Our 65# lab also uses the black kong.

Both mine (50 lbs. and 95 lbs.) respectively get the x-large black kong. I feed almost all their meals in their kongs, so they have to be big enough to hold 2 cups of kibble soaked in water.
