They irk ya, are overused,...make you flinch whenever you hear them, etc.
My number ONE all time is now..."It is, what it is...." (what in the world, does this even mean???)
Close second is the oft used pseudo insult "Oh bless his/her/your heart."

"Beating a dead horse!"
Now you must have expected this.

My mom says,"Oh Crumb" and when coming up to a green light says,"Hold on babe, coming through."
Oh and "w00t". That bugs me.

"At the end of the day" is commonly (over)used here to mean "in the end" (as in "at the end of the day, no one can dispute that the sun is hot";) and bugs the snot out of me.

rwbeagles"Oh bless his/her/your heart."
Crap! I say that! LOL I say it because my mom always said it. And just for the record, it's really a good thing when I say it. I just really love the way it sounds.
I can't think of any that bug me, but I know they're out there.

It drives me nuts when people say "I could care less." Doesn't make ANY sense! It's "I couldN'T care less." Sheesh. And "it was all I could do", as in "It was all I could do not to punch him when he said "I could care less"!" Okay, but WHAT was all you could do?? Cripes.

"I don't know." DH does it all the time when he just doesn't feel like thinking about an answer.
Me: What do you want for dinner.
DH: I don't know
Me: How about Mexican?
DH: No
Me: Then what?
or
ME: What time did Riley eat last?
DH: I don't know?
Me: What do you mean?
AAAHHHH!! Drives me up a wall.

DPU "Beating a dead horse!"
My hubby likes to say that nobody beats a horse deader than him, lol! I like to say "the horse is dead, you can stop beating it now".

How about when you have a young child, or even a dog, and it gets hurt. My MIL always said, "Everything's fine! ITS A LONG WAY FROM YOUR HEART!"
That one really gets to me!

rexandbaby"Everything's fine! ITS A LONG WAY FROM YOUR HEART!"
I have never heard that one before!
I remembered what I hate. I hate it when someone says, "It's a no-brainer"... It sounds like a real insult to me. Like if I didn't instinctively know something, then I have no brain.

Hey I was going to say this one!

You could use my version of this one..."I could care less...if I cared to care at all".
Posted : 10/4/2007 11:37:25 AM
The only people I know who say this are those in my family, but it drives me nuts none the less:
thing-a-dingy
I just want to scream - stop being so flipping lazy and call the object what it is!
