GRAPHIC THREAD-IT IS AN ASSAULT ON THE SOUL~ FUMING MAD!!

That was a terrible video. I can't understand how people can be so cruel. Anybody (solider or not) that can treat another living creature in that way deserves the most severe punishment possible.

I could not watch the second video, I don't think I could stomach it. I did sign the petition.

    Kathrine, I agree.

Gina, I understand. I wanted to share this with everyone because it is important and needed to be brought to peoples attention, so we a collective we, can do something about it by signing the pettition.

We cannot stand quietly in a corner and just let this go. If nobody fights for God's creatures, then who will?

It was bad enough some of the military men and women were in a scandle over abusing prisoners etc., but to do this to a helpless, crippled, animal who cannot speak for themselves is just not cool with me or any avid animal lover that I know of.

These men need serious help, mentally and physically. I hope they get it, behind bars. My opinion.

To all of you who take a stand and sign the pettition, I thank you very much.

I'm not even going to attempt to watch the video...but imagine the horrors our military personnel is witnessing every day. It's no excuse to torture a poor dog (or dogs...who knows how many are abused, these 2 just happened to be caught on tape).
But these same people would probably abuse animals here....or have.
I would think the stresses of everyday life they are living probably does have some effect on their logic and sense of humanity. I understand quite a few of them are coming home and beating, or killing, their spouses.
I sympathize with them yet don't understand...and I don't think any of us ever can. But again it's no excuse for abusing innocent creatures, especially disabled ones.

That is sickening. How can those heartless soldiers hurt that innocent animal, let alone a crippled animal. The yelps are awful. And then the soldiers talk about killing it.
:( I hope they rot in hell.

Sickening.....I don't care how bad it gets, one should keep some humane aspect about everyday living.

Exactly. If I were there and found the animal in such a state, the first thing I would do is get between the miscreants and the dog. Then, considering the state of things over there, I would put the dog out of its misery. Then, I would go and report to someone about the others' behavior. In war, I could kill the enemy because that's the job. But there's nothing in the job description about losing one's humanity and torturing a defenseless dog. There is no glory or honor in that.

Nicely said Ron. No honor in that at all.

Thank you for the warnings about graphic content, there is nothing worse than accidentally watching something so horrifying.

I watched the first video (with cursor hovering over the X close window button) but would rather not see the second. I know less than nothing about military training but this makes me wonder if we should take a closer look at the side effects of training people to kill. Animal torture is one of the characteristic behaviors of sociopaths and serial killers... very disturbing to think about.

My friend, Lee, US Navy SEAL, 1964-69, Da Nang, Viet Nam, had 9 confirmed sniper kills, and hundreds by means of remote C4 detonation. An efficient soldier. And he was discharged and didn't kill anyone else, though at times, he was sorely tempted. And he didn't torture animals.

These soldiers are not exemplary of what soldiers are or should be. They need a psych eval and possibly a section 8 medical discharge.

There's a deeper issue here -- and one which periodically surfaces in this war (similar to a lot of what happened in Vietnam) -- this is a war where the opposite side's 'values' regarding humanity are so different from the average American's it becomes increasingly difficult for sane people to retain their sense of 'value' over there.

The thing that truly upset me about this - difficult as it was to watch -- was simply that they found this so 'amusing'.  Their laughter and amusement at the expense of this animal who is literally a miracle that it IS ALIVE and lived to run off is what truly scares me.  "how could they"??  It's an indicator of how incredibly depressed their own sense of humanity and their core values of right and wrong have been jaded.

War and military action in general can often bring out the worst, and over time it GETS worse.  If they find this funny -- then their decisions in the field day to day are horribly skewed.

In case you want to see here is another video I saw a couple of weeks ago it is american soldiers in iraq teasing children with water and laughing about it.

What a sad world we live in.

Did you read some of those coments on this video? Oye vay!
    • Gold Top Dog
I just can't watch the video. I did sign the petition, though. Everytime I hear or see about this kind of behaviour, I feel like a peice of me dies inside. It is so unfathomable to me how there can be such much wretchedness/sickness/horror that resides within peoples hearts. I don't understand it in the least. I think for me its made even worse by the fact that since they were American soldiers, symbolically they represent me and my hopes dreams, beliefs. I hope they will be held accountable.

I agree with you here mookies mom. Take another piece of my heart now baby! Especially when it comes to animals, elderly, and young children.

I also couldn't watch the second video and had a real hard time watching the first one too, especially when they were finding it very amusing to taunt that poor dog. I think at one point, I had a knee jerk reaction and turned my volume off, eyes closed tight in tears.
I see a lot of things out at the shelter, at the vet's office, but this was just the bottom of the barrel and unbelievable that our soldiers would do such a horrific thing to an animal, helpless, crippled and scared out it's mind, and find it amusing. I understand war, but this is low of the lowest!

I'm not sure who it was, but I'm with them. I simply will not watch it. I already know how cruel humans can be, i don't need to see it
