    Parents adopted

My dad searched for a new dog, and some may say it was too soon, but I don't think so. My moms life was her dogs, and with Cyrano being gone she was a mess. My dad was mending his heart but trying to heal hers as well. So yesterday they went to the Michigan Humane Society and picked out a German shepherd rotti mix pup.
Ceasar also needs another dog around. You can tell he is upset. He keeps looking for Cyrano. I'm glad they did it right away, because it would have been very tough on them for a long time, and now they have something to look forward to.

They said the Michigan HS was a wonderful place to go. They said it is run very well and they would recommend it to others. They paid $267 and the pup will be altered and up to date with shots and he also comes with microchip.  I was very surprised that it's not a problem to cross the border with the pup. The pup came from a litter of nine and they were going fast.

I really know this was the best thing for them to do, they were just to upset. To the point that my mother was not getting out of bed, not eating, and constantly crying at Cyrano's grave.  And because I saw how great this HS was, I will definetlty be paying them a visit in the future. My brother is now considering going there for a companion for their dog, and they have been wanting to buy another one for a while.

I'm glad they did this, Angel.  Nothing helps the heart heal faster than another little puppers needing love and care. [:)]

Everyone needs to heal on their own terms and do what is best for them.  Conratulations on the new pup I hope your mom's heart heals soon :)

Many congratulations to your family. After the loss of a beloved companion, there's no right or wrong time to adopt again. It sounds as if this was the right time for them and one lucky shelter dog.
