    Help, my dog ate aspirin

I am getting ready for school.  My stupid and idiotic sister was opening some of the medications in the kitchen (for no reason).  Anyways, she dropped some aspirin on the floor, and I think that Riley ate one.  I am not 100% sure, as they were tiny and hard to find.  My mom is going to call the vet when I am at school.  Has this ever happened to anyone else, and what happened afterwards?

I googled it and found this...
Aspirin: This human drug is poisonous to dogs if not administered properly.
Symptoms: Dizziness, blood-tinged vomiting, bloody diarrhea and a total
    collapse.
Treatment: If you find your dog eating aspirin you should induce vomiting.
Then give your dog a water and baking soda solution to neutralize the aspirin. The mixture should be made of 10 ml of baking soda and 30 ml of water.
    Seek immediate medical attention.

The dosge for dogs is 10mg per pound... I know you have a small dog...

call an e-vet right now to find out the amount of hydrogen peroxide to give to induce vomitting b/c really you don't know how many the dog ate.

PS.... good luck, you are in our thoughts.

If he only ate one there should be no problem.

Ibuprofen is the bad one for dogs, I believe. I GIVE my dogs buffered asprin for minor aches n pains...and have been recommended to do so by my vet. Mind you that's buffered asprin so you might check on that. It's not often you find unbuffered these days as asprin like that is hard on the stomach.

aspirin is fine for dogs, unless he ate the entire bottle-ful?  I give it all the time for aches and pains.

I also give buffered asprin for athritis-related aches.  My vet suggested doing so.  One pill shouldn't pose a problem.

Just so everyone knows, the ASPCA has an Animal Poison Control line that you can call 24 hours a day:

Thanks, guys.  I found out that it is baby aspirin, and yes, people do give it to their dogs on purpose.  I came home from school and he is perfectly fine.  I also found out that the smaller the dog, the smaller amount of aspirin it takes for them to be severely affected.

Aspirin is OK for dogs, Tylenol, acetaminophen, no.
