"digging" on my bed

    "digging" on my bed

Jake "digs" on my bed about 4 or 5 times during the middle of the night.  He wakes me up and just moves his two front paws like he is digging.  Then he ends up right in the same spot he was in before.  Does anyone know what this means?  He is driving me crazy and am ready to put him in his own bed when he does this.

He's probably just arranging things for himself! [:D] Bennett does the same thing so we make him sleep on the floor on his very own very comfortable bed. We put a quilt on top of it so he can dig and move the quilt around how he likes it.

Winston does it, too, and it's cute but annoying!  They are just trying to make a "hole" for themselves to sleep in by piling the covers up around them.

Yeah, its cute....unless you happen to have a water bed and then it can be downright messy!!  And wet.

Oh man, Hawk does that anytime he is getting ready to lie down.  He will not lay down unless he has dug an imaginary hole to sleep in.  No matter how comfy his bed is,  he does it everytime.

Bailey does it too, very loudly until she is satisfied and can lay back down and sleep.  If I say no she just looks at me like I have annoyed her and plops back down.

    Edited because I misspelled stuff

Blue only diggs on the couch. He will start digging throw off the pillows off the couch and the seat cushions will  be almost falling off the couch. Then Blue will throw himself and look at you like you did with a wild crazy look.

Max does that, too.  It usually doesn't cause much of a problem unless he decides to use my leg as his pillow. [:D]

Brown digs in the hallway. He doesn't even sleep in the hall, but he digs there anyway. He'll also dig on his bed to make it "fluffy."

Yup, Tyler does it too. We call it 'fluffing up his sheets'. He does it even on the hardwood floor (shh, don't tell my husband that is were the scratches came from)

Of course, he also tries to mooch my pillow in the middle of the night...

Sasha has never done the digging but our lil' man Jake sure does. I think he looks cute he will go so fast than all of a sudden plop down he goes and off to sleep(lol).[8D]

Ok, so they are digging to make a comfy new "hole", sounds good, both of mine do that....but what's with the turning around in a circle 3 times before laying down?

If I'm remembering correctly, in the wild they do that to tamp down their bedding and get it just so....some things they dont ever seem to loose.

I laugh every time I see Lucy digging to make a bed, I think it's so cute.

But when she starts digging on a couch cushion which of course won't bunch up, she just starts digging harder as if that will work. I then throw a blanket on her, like a good mommy, so she can burrow properly. You'll see a plop within seconds. [:)]

Kayla did the walking in a circle a million times things way more than she did the digging.  We always got a kick out of it.

She would also spend a great deal of time to "bury" her unwanted dog food with the air around the bowl.  That was so funny, she would get it just right, but there was nothing there [sm=angel.gif]
