If you were to run away from home, would your dog come?

If you were to run away from home, would your dog come?

If you were to run away from home, would you take your dog with you?  If so, would the majority of the supplies for your dog or for yourself?

Without a doubt, definitely, YES! I'd say the supplies would be half and half for me and him.

Being a responsible grown up....I actually cannot even fantasize too much or often, about running away (it distracts one from the joy of complaining lol).

I have kids, a husband, a mortgage,....all that good stuff in addition to my dogs. I deal with my problems as best as I can and ignore the rest HAHA!....

cute question...but I have many other beings as, or more precious to me than my dogs...who should the need arise...have places to go with reponsible people who'd love them.

On a serious note, if one had to leave an unliveable situation, the responsible thing would be to first find a place safe for the dog and any other dependants, to be while you sort yourself out...it is the epitome of irresponsibility IMO, to subject those that depend on you to the uncertainty of life without a plan.

Yup, I also have a husband, no kids though and no mortgage. I took the question to mean there was a real need to leave in hurry.

I think cairns is a teenager so I used the concept of running away as I knew it when I was a teen...leaving your home, bound for noplace really...just...away.

I wanted to do just that many a time in my teens, and I thought it'd be cool to bring my dog along with me...it'd be like "Natty Gann".  GLAD I didn't because...reality bites!

Yeah, I'm a teen.  Don't worry, I'm not gonna run away!  I was just reading this book about a girl who runs away because she is half breed (that's what she calls herself) and her relatives that her father left her with hate her.  So she ran away and met this dog and stuff like that.  Then she got a job working on this boat, but couldn't bring the dog.  Right where I am in the book, she is going to go back for the dog![:D]

Oh, by the way, the book is called Adaline Falling Star.

Ditto everything Gina said.  If you're going to run away, better do it before kids, mortgages, bills, etc. My kids are all grown up (30 & 36) but should the need ever arise, I know my best friend would take both me and Max in. [:)]

First thing is that I'd have to run away to someplace warm...my dogs just can't tolerate the cold....So how about we all run away to Gina's house in sunny Texas??[;)]
    • Puppy
[8|]  no...she belongs to my daughter...well maybe cause if i ran away i would probably bring the child too... i know i would bring the daughter too...so there would be no since in running away as i wouldn't be gaining anything [;)]

Out of state college is the young-adult version of running away! If I could run away these days (beyond the occasional trip to Food Lion by myself) probably one of the few things I would take with me is the dogs! Of course, then I'd have to take the station wagon for them to fit in, and that's just not exactly the kind of car you want to be cruising out on the open road in, a ten year old Volvo wagon! No, these days running away is a night out with the other neighborhood mommies.

Last July I had to move outta my home because the new landlord had aquired insurance that didnt allow pit bulls. I had two options, get rid of her or move. It was costly because they didnt want to give me back my deposit because I hadnt specified her breed and they tried tosay it was a breech of my lease. But the previous landlord loved Rory and didnt care. The housing authority took my side but that took months and a lot of monet coming up with a new deposit for the new place.......so I hope that answers your question, ha ha.
The landord told me "well she's only a year old how attahced to her can you be?
He also tried "a cute girl liek you dosnt need a pit bull, why not get a chi instead?
Dont get me started ha ha!

From the ages of five to seven, I frequently ran away from home and always took my St. Bernard and my cat. We took pet food but no other supplies. The only problem was that after a while the Bernard would get bored with the adventure and take a nap.
