What should we call each other?

I have my real name Sarah is in my sig but Boneyjean has been my nickname for as long as I can remember so I answer to both.

Becca - I like that name.  It's cute / yet outdoorsey.  Like an independent kinda girl. And it's just as pretty as Brooke.

Sarah - it must be a story of how you got to being called boneyjean.  Quite unusual nickname that you've got!

Well, one day I will hire out the geek squad from the bestbuy and get a picture loaded up and put my name with it, too!

I'm Lynn, but Chasza's fine, too.   One day I might go in and switch the info on the sidebar.  I usually don't sign my name unless it's a personal or long kind of note.

It does make it seem more personal to know names of people, and not just their dog-associated name.

When I first came to forum I found it very confusing when post would refer to other post by using their real name.  I had no idea who they were responding to.  It was not very welcoming.  When you use a real name for one and then a username for the other, don't you run the risk of hurt feelings.  Plus how many real names are the same, so again who are you referring to?

It's funny when people call me Miranda... but my name is Paige and my screenname is a play on Gracie's knickname, Mira, plus Dobe for Doberman.

I prefer Kelly, but there are a few Kellys here so it really doesn't matter.

    Hard to mess mine up[;)]

Of course, with growing up, I've gradually become known more as Jennifer.... jennie_c_d has been my screen name since forever, and the people who've been in my life for more than 5 years or so call me Jennie[:D] I respond to all variations of my name, including my last name, shouted across a noisy room full of people.

I'm called by both my log-in name and my real name (Joyce) and sometimes I'm just called "Fuzzy" - which is my own fault for using such a ridiculous log-in name to start with

    "Call me Ishmael..."

I really get a kick out of off the wall answers thrown in with kind of serious ones [sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif] I've always heard older people say "I don't care what you call me as long as you don't call me late for supper".  And I agree with Cathy, I like being able to use a first name when responding.

Now which one is Cathy again?  Am I going to have to look for this call name in avatar area, below the response, or in the signature line?  I am sooo confused?

Ok, i'll call you Ishmael, but I am curious to know how many others have read the book. I haven't finished it yet. I started it, got my stuff stolen from my car including my original copy of it, and just recently bought a new one. I've gotta get on that.

barngirl works fine for me, it's easy to type and on this board it's uniqe enough that there is only one of me[:D]. But my real name is Elizabeth in case you wanted to know. Maybe when I actually figure out this signature thing I'll put my name down there.

I only ever have gotten as far as "Call me Ishmael". I find American Romantics rather insufferable - with the possible exception of Hawthorne.

You can call me Sue, micksmom, MM, whatever, just don't call me late to dinner!  [:D]

ETA- oops, I replied this morning before I read all the responses.  Didn't see Missy's (bragg1120's) reference to late for dinner.   That's somethin my Dad used to say.

You and I, we have a lot of book interests in common.
    Not to mention first names!
Except I go more by Rebecca.

Chewbecca is a nickname my friend gave me. I think it's cute when people call me "chewie" or even by the Star Wars character "Chewbacca".

But my real name is Crystal, I added it

Crystal -  Hate to break it to you, but you added your name into the link in you siggy so now that doesn't work.  Or at least that's how my computer is showing it [:)

I had to read that (Moby Dick) &  Nahaniel Hawthorne in HS.  Talk about torture!!
