how do you get your pet photo....

hi how can i put a pic of my pets in the smnall are where my name is???
everytime i load a pic it says it is to large and i have made it as tiny as i can...thanks

have you downloaded onto

hotobucket.com?? It is free and they have editing that allows you to resize it to "avatar" setting. I tried everything and this is what finally worked for me.

I forget what the size limit it but I had to re-sized my pic to that and then it worked. Also if your using Safari you just can't upload a pic, you have to use a different browser.

If your talking about the signiture, the pic under your post, I use [linkhttp://www.photobucket.com]www.photobucket.com[/link] to upload my pic and then use the link they give me there in my signiture, the [IMG] must be in lowercase for it to work.

AVATAR...
go to your profile then click the dot that says "Upload my picture (this will replace the existing one)

Click on that and a box will appear. MAKE NOTE of the size dimensions listed in the box...your pic CANNOT be even one pixel bigger than that. You can upload DIRECT from your puter...there is no need to host the pic anywhere for avatars.

(145 X 145) Max. 40KB;
jpg/gif are supported

Easiest way to resize your pic is to do so in MSPAINT if you have it.

In MSPAINT:
open your image, then click...IMAGE...ATTRIBUTES...this will tell you exactly how far you need to go...it will tell you what your image is NOW.

Resize with IMAGE...STRETCH AND SKEW...use a percentage that you think will shrink it enough. Then you can recheck your efforts with IMAGE...ATTRIBUTES...again. Fiddle with it....crop off unnecessary edges....squares do better than rectangular shapes...if the image isn't clear when that small use another one...once it is the right size..

SAVE IT...then come back to the forum and do the above to load your avatar....if the size and file type are okay then it will load just fine. REFRESH' your browser and you should be able to see your avatar near your posts now.
