    Thanks for answering!!

You all have done so while and I really appreciate it. I was searching for a good place to ask these questions to people who feel strongly about these subjects. I prob won't be on to post any longer if so it will be a while or if I find myself wondering about what you guys think about an issue. I like to be open-minded and learn all sides. I do alot of dog research I guess it can be a hoppy..sounds boring to most. I have all types of books on various breeds and my fave websites to look at dog profiles is [linkhttp://www.dogbreedinfo.com]www.dogbreedinfo.com[/link] and [linkhttp://www.puppydogweb]www.puppydogweb[/link]  for looking up collies would be [linkhttp://www.sweetcollies.com]www.sweetcollies.com[/link] and [linkhttp://www.colliepuppy.com]www.colliepuppy.com[/link] for boxers would be [linkhttp://www.boxerworld.com]www.boxerworld.com[/link] for rescues [linkhttp://www.petfinder.com]www.petfinder.com[/link] and a cute one is(not to step on any toes-cockapoo) is [linkhttp://www.mymeka.com]www.mymeka.com[/link]   if any of you are interested in those.
-This is an outstanding disscussion board and oh if any of you have a website do you mind to link it? That was be so neat.-

Hey just wanted to know if this is a "backyard" breeder? I have seen where it was talked about.--- [linkhttp://expo.live.com/ViewListing.aspx?lId=1189444]http://expo.live.com/ViewListing.aspx?lId=1189444[/link] ?? lol had to ask!

if this is a "backyard" breeder

Possibly so. A legimitate breeder usually already has owners lined up and waiting, which negates the need to advertise on a general website that's not even devoted to dogs. The dogs look clean and their area is free of poop which means that someone is caring for them. I notice that the only payment option is cash, especially for local pick-up.

I also noticed there was no mention of anything about the pups aside from that they're collies and AKC registered. Ron's right that good breeders rarely have to advertise, but when they do they always mention OFA/CERF and other health checks, along with the titles and names of the prominent dogs in the line.

BYB- no mention of eye checks, which are an absolute necessity on collie puppies, because 3/4 of the breed is carrier or affected for Collie Eye Anomaly.

Mom is not to breed standard but that isn't necessarily BYB in my opinion- there are some people breeding what are called 'farmcollies' which are rough collies (and collie x ES or collie x BC crosses) for working ability, particularly in the midwest- but they tend to have waiting lists, health testing, and lots of brags about working ability....

Check out Ke-Mar (I think that's the right name) in Springfield for reputably bred collies in MO- I contacted them in September and they're planning litters for the spring, I believe. AWESOME dogs.
