Molly doesn't like to get wet. We knew that from day one as the day we got her from Glenda's son she stepped in a puddle and shook her paws like a cat [8|] I was pretty sure she wasn't going to become a water dog like my previous two were.
Today we went for a hike with Beau (her pup pal) and Beau's people. The trail I choose (stupid) was WET WET WET. Snowmobilers now use the trail and they have wrecked it. It was so muddy and torn up.
But we trekked along anyway as the pups were having a great time.
Then we got to the stream (river this time of year) and there was no bridge. So we bushwhacked and tried to find an easy spot to cross.
Paul found a spot that was easy (but failed to share the info with us).
Molly was upset as her daddy was on the other side of the stream and walking away from her. So she jumped in. She got caught in the current and swept down a little ways (Glenda calm down....it's not really a river, more of a stream with quickly moving water - if I got in it would be about knee deep). She got stopped by a rock and wouldn't move. She hung on whining away.
Beau jumped in and went right up to her. Licked her nose and Molly followed him back.
At that point we decided to head back - Molly was wet, our feet were soaked. Enough was enough.
Got to another section where we had to step on rocks to cross the stream. Molly refused. She was wet enough and not happy about it.
Beau bounded right across to us while Molly stayed on the other side whining.
Beau leaped back over to Molly, spotted an easy way to cross and did it. Got back to us, barked at Molly and she did the same exact cross Beau had just done.
and "they" say dogs are stupid.
