Have you tasted your dog's food?

Have you tasted your dog's food?

This is a silly question but has anyone tasted their dog's kibble or wet food before?  If so, is it actually tasty or does it taste like how it looks.

We came from Taiwan where dogs are fed tablescraps, and I just don't see the same enthusiasm during feeding time for our dogs here in the states.

My dog eats a half homecooked diet and I can say I've tried some of that, it's made of stuff I would feed myself so why not... But I've never tied kibble or canned dog food.[:'(]

Nope.  I've been curious, though, because TWO smells divine.

i used to take care of my teacher's cat over the holidays a few years ago and i tried the cat food (canned). it's REALLY gross so i never even bothered trying my dogs' food [:D]

yes, kibble tastes like cardboard soaked in broth. main reason why i cannot deny giving my dog half of nearly everything i eat, because if i ate dog food i would beg too!

most dog biscuits have next to no flavor, except the beef flavor coated ones, they have a little bit of a roast beefy taste. the little cheapy snausage-type dog treats i do not feed my dog because i tried one once and it tasted like play-doh, not very palatable or healthy, IMO.

my dog does not eat canned food, if he did i would be too much of a weenie to try it, though it might taste good, most of them smell pretty good.

No because it's mostly raw meat that would probably make me sick. [:)]

I actually have! I prepare the food myself all natural and tastes/smells wonderful .

I also feed a pre-made raw which I have yet to try. [8D]

    Yes.

I tried a small, home-made fancy treat that I got at the local dog bakery.

It was pumpkin flavored. Tasted great.

Um..No!  I am not a dog therefore I will not eat dog kibble.

Although, I have tried horse sweet feed once...it was pretty good, LOL!

I've tasted kibble. Just looking for high salt content. I can't judge by how it tastes to me whether the dogs will like it. I have tasted horsefeed too. Back home in Trinidad we gave them molasses soaked coconut (don't know why) and it was good eatin'.

    Molasses soaked coconut - yummy!

I will fess up. I opened a few cans of the Evangers Rabbit and finally couldn't stand it - it smelled so good. I tried a teeny bit, after looking about a million times at the label to read that it did indeed say "Rabbit, rabbit broth" were the ONLY ingredients (not that I've ever been that picky about an item at McD's [8|]).

It tasted nothing like I expected - I think I thought it would taste like deviled meat since that's what it looked and smelled like. It tasted more like baby food, but even more bland. Weird. But, duh, it's meat with no additives and my taste buds are not used to that.

I have never been tempted to eat any other dog food, no matter how good it smelled. I don't know why. The food I buy is mostly human grade ingredients and whatnot - it's just not that appealing. I guess I handle too much of it every day. It's funny but my consumption of meat dropped dramatically after I started feeding the dogs raw. Same thing, I just don't care for it as much though I still like a really choice piece every so often. And I'm addicted to fast food burgers - somebody stop me . . .

Ummm yes I have. Even Milk Bones which are rather surprisingly tasty.

Won't try my cat's kibble tho. Doesn't appeal to me. Yuck.

I'll admit to it.  I've tasted the kibble.  With a dash of salt it could be very palateable.  I've tried my cat's food as well.  She eats "wellness" sr. formula, and it was surprizingly tasty.  I don't think I'd ever switch over however.

I haven't yet, but those Natural Balance rolls smell like beef jerky hee hee

I always have, the kibble anyway.
My daughter tries the canned food but I can't get myself to do that "yet".
I always taste the homecooked, if I won't eat it, why should they[;)]
When my kids were small, they'd always sneak the milkbones.
