throwing up bile

    thanks again.

when i went home at lunch, there was no puke or anything. just a pup that needed to pee! i reckon that barium tasted bad and he had been slurping up the water. when i let him out, he wanted to poop and "assumed the position" but nothing yet.

he did seem to be getting a little enthusiasm for food back. i gave him his pill in a little peanut butter and he licked it all up. this morning i had to smear it on the roof of his mouth. then i went to give amelia a little peanut butter and he ran over like he wanted more. i gave him just a touch more.

i am hoping tonight he will eat a little rice and broth (maybe even a little kibble). i think once he gets some food in him, he will be able to poop more easily.

I just came across your post.  I am glad Sydney is feeling better and hope he goes # 2 soon, I know what is like to see them try and nothing, I hold my breath every time and breath a sigh of relief when it happens.

Please keep us posted.  I am sending good vibes your way.

Bradley, maybe Sydney hasn' pooped because he got a little dehydrated from the puking.  I'm just glad he seems to be feeling better.  I'm sending healthy vibes to him & calming vibes to you.  Please give both your kiddos some lovin' on from me.

he is feeling a little better this evening. still not playing like his normal self, but he did play a little.

i took them out as soon as i got home, and he pooped. it was mostly water. he pooped the watery stuff and then one little bitty turd. but i guess that is kinda to be expected since all he has kept down for a while is water. he hasnt puked any more today (knock wood!).

he ate a bowl full of rice and broth. he wanted something more, but i was afraid to give him any kibble yet. he has kept the rice down for close to an hour now. i am thinking if he wants some more i might give him a little more rice in a little bit.

i reckon he has used up his energy for now. he is sleeping by my feet.

So glad to hear he is on the mend!  Go Sydney!  Enjoy the rice 'n' broth while it lasts, and all the extra attention from your daddy :)

I'm sooooo glad to hear that Sydney is doing better.  Just give him time & I'm sure he'll be back to his old happy self.  You know when you're feeling poopy it can take some time for you to feel 100%.  Give him some kisses from me.

When our Dal is having stomach issues, we were told to fast him for 24 hours then a bland diet like rice & chicken for a day or two. That helps his digestive tract heal itself and does the trick 90% of the time. If he is still off after 24 hours of fasting, we take him to the vet for his usual medications.
