I went with one of the family's whose son I work with today to pick up a puppy at the petstore. Please, nothing about they should have rescued, they tried many rescues and spent about 2 months and $150 attempting to rescue a dog, which they would have much preferred, but got tired of hearing no. Nothing about they should have gone to a breeder either, because i'm sure they would have gotten turned down going that route too because they have an 8 year old who is autistic. They're going to take the puppy to training, probably where I go to, or have the trainer out to the house, and the mother doesn't work, so the puppy won't be home alone very long. Anyway, on to my rant...
Before we went to the store, the boy's mom was asking me about this registration the store told her she could get for $20 so that she could breed the dog (ummm... like she couldn't without it if she wanted to?) She wasn't sure of the name of it, but I later found out it was the ACA, which I will assume stands for American Con Artists Association. She didn't take it, because she has no desire to breed the dog, and a few minutes later she was asking me about how old dogs typically get spayed.
But, why the hell do they sell you papers for breeding the dog? What, is that to start you up as a byb, so pretend to be semi-legitimate just like them?
