There is a Breeding and Pregnancy section under the Health section in this forum. I'm sure you'll find much information there.

Breeding is very expensive and complicated.  Please do loads of research.  Is your dog titled?

well if u mean does she have papers then no, because she is a Toy Spitz and the AKC does not recongnize it.

I mean have you shown her?  Has she been evaluated as good breeding stock by a knowledgeable, objective, third party.  Do you participate in dog shows?

Well she has been to the Vet and that is it. I dont plane on taking her to any dog shows or anything.  She is a great dog very smart and very cute and a great pet also. If you want check the photo in my signature.  I am not totally sure if i want to bread her and if i do bread her it wont be fore a while cause she is still young little puppie haha

Please get her spayed...unless you know what you are doing, you are in for some big surprises...it is expensive and time consuming....and you may be risking your beloved dog's health.

The word is "breed" not "bread."   Please do not have your pup "bred."

Amen to that!!!! We had it happen, was not intentionally and even thou we had registered dogs I would not recommend it at all. The female was a bit smaller than the male and it made us worry about her the entire pregnancy. X-ray was about $40. Emergency c-section and spay was $445, the vaccines for all four pups $168, then around $120 when we had 3 left and then $80 for the third vaccination when there were only 2..which we ended up keeping. We know where the other two are and they are doing great. Which was another issue. We didn't want them to just go anywhere. I don't care that we had more expenses than what we earned. What was hard for us was seeing our female being miserable when she was pregnant, not being able to move around anymore like she used to, seeing her in labor way to long, because she was not progressing as she should have..than falling in love with those adorable puppies the minute they arrived and then wondering for weeks if they would get a good home.
It was just plain naive on our part and I do not recommend it at all.
The best and most loving thing you can do for your dog is to get her spayed.

It might be a good idea to be able to spell BREED before you become a BREEDER....just a thought.....

I think dackelfan spells out the reality without having to be too polite or pc.  Their female was miserable and it made them rethink their actions. Kudos for your honesty.

Nothing is "ha ha" when it comes to breeding your pup if she is still young and you entertain the idea so matter of factly.

Just so you know there are real dangers when your dog has pups.  My friend just lost her dog and all of her puppies during the dilivery.  The pups would not come, and they all died.

A dog may be breed when she is AKC (or other reputatable registry) registered, titled, completely health tested for genetic conditions common to her breed and reaches the age of at least TWO.  She should only be bred to a male who is also registered, titled and completely health tested.

In this case, since the dog is of a breed that is not AKC recognized, she could be breed when the shelters are finally empty.

Freebies, what you have is a toy american eskimo dog.  Which, by the way, is an akc recognized dog.  Spitz is a type of dog, like hound or spaniel, not a breed of dog.  Since you bought/adopted this dog not even knowing what she was, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen to the posters on i dog and get your new baby spayed.  Yes, she is beautiful, but check out petfinder.com to see all of the dogs and even beautiful eskies who need homes.  The more research you do, the more you will find out how bad of a decision not spaying your baby is.

Well the person we purchased her from said she was a toy spitz and it was not recognized by the AKC so thats why i think she is a Toy Spitz u know.  Like i said before i dont know if i want her to have puppies or not yet its something i was thinking about because she is so pretty and think her puppies would be so prettttttttttttttttttttttty
