Amen to that!!!! We had it happen, was not intentionally and even thou we had registered dogs I would not recommend it at all. The female was a bit smaller than the male and it made us worry about her the entire pregnancy. X-ray was about $40. Emergency c-section and spay was $445, the vaccines for all four pups $168, then around $120 when we had 3 left and then $80 for the third vaccination when there were only 2..which we ended up keeping. We know where the other two are and they are doing great. Which was another issue. We didn't want them to just go anywhere. I don't care that we had more expenses than what we earned. What was hard for us was seeing our female being miserable when she was pregnant, not being able to move around anymore like she used to, seeing her in labor way to long, because she was not progressing as she should have..than falling in love with those adorable puppies the minute they arrived and then wondering for weeks if they would get a good home.
It was just plain naive on our part and I do not recommend it at all.
The best and most loving thing you can do for your dog is to get her spayed.
